He was relatively good for us. He just made a few irrational fuck ups (one against Parma and one against Bayern I think). By most accounts he's matured but I don't really understand where we're going to play him. It sounds silly to buy him for LB but it might just work. Either way, its a LB buy we should be making.

A good LB is hard to find. Once found, a good LB is even harder to buy.
Exactly my thoughts. Whom can we buy as lb? There is a shortage of LB, Kolorov? Buying Caceres would mean that chances for us to see Motta or Bonnuci will be very slim. I'd take as good deal if we offload Bonucci to Zenit since they are very interested, for same money we can buy Caceres, that's what I call good business.

I think this guy is a better player than some give him credit for, and he's got lots of athleticism. I'd like to see him at Juve again, as long as the price isn't stupid. 7-8M seems about right to me...

If we have no solid options for LB in January - as in established, long term starting 11 options - Caceres would be a nice move. Especially with a loan/option formula. Tons of grit, can you imagine a back line featuring Licht/Chiello/Caceres... that is downright fierce, it's going to be intimidating for opponents. These guys are going to crack some heads! He can play across the back line, and we could certainly find him useful in the future, once we're in multiple competitions. Youth still on his side, improving, he would be great for defensive depth, IMO. I think Conte would also appreciate his intensity.

Provided we would still have the money to fix the LB spot in the summer - if it still needs to be fixed at that time - this works nicely. In the end, it does come down to his price/our finances, but long term we definitely still need two quality LB's, another RB for depth, and additional CB depth is always useful.

It's really the Bayern debacle that poisoned some peoples view of him. That one really hurt.
