Caceres, when he was brought, he was coming from the mighty Barca, he was a free prestige move.
Now he can be tolerated by our fans, instead of a random free/cheap foreigner, because he was one of us for a while.

That only means one thing, we are still unwilling to invest seriously for a starter defender and we will keep betting on our Italians, no matter how much shall we suffer...

I can only hope that we are not saving money for the completely useless transfers of CM or SS and are making a compromise yet again in the same spot we are ignoring for almost a decade, in favor of yeat another mediocre but Italian CM (like the toilet paper called Montolivo)

You didn't understand my point, I don't want to see Bonnucci ever in the pitch, I want Chiellini back to a CB if he plays next to a capable passing CB, because good teams will pressure Pirlo or in some extent man mark him, as we saw in multiple games like against Napoli or Lazio, when that happen you need your CB to be a capable passer to skip pirlo and deliver some good passes either to Marchi/Vidal or to the wingers. That's what i'm talking about because i just don't think that Chiellini/Barza will do that.

We should get both a CB and LB. We will need a lot more depth in defense next season, so I don't think you need to worry about that, unless we buy guys like Bochetti, Astori, Caceres, and Aogo and expect them to be starters or challenging for starting spots. In that case, you can press the panic button.

i like him as well...aggressive in offense and defense and would definitely offer more than chiellini going forward...plus we wont have to worry about bonnucci...

to those who think he is crap i doubt they have watched uruguay play...i havent watched sevilla(just cant stomach la liga again) so cant say how he is doing there but he has definitely improved..and still at a youngish age for conte to mould him into a better player..

'big name' players are not necessarily guarantees...
