there are...there are many that in the 2000-2010 era. but other countries developed better sistems, that's why they have success. look at gotze, look at neuer, look at hazard, then look at italy's clubs
You mean the players who are probably just as good, or not too far behind the players you mentioned (potentially) but never get the chance to play regularly because Serie A clubs are fucking retarded?

Anyway I remember the Euro 2009 U/21 semi between Italy and Germany. Germany won 1-0, but Italy dominated that game and definitely deserved more from it. Look at the players in both squads that day. Potentially Italy's youth players are just as good as any of the countries youve just mentioned.

Yeah, but Italian coaches would rather play Gilardino and the likes over youth.
Thats exactly what I mean, bro. They would rather play "safe" options like Gilardino etc over young and promising players. A player is still considered "young" at 25 years old in Italy. That shit needs to change.

Italy have drawn with Germany in Dortmund and beat Spain earlier this year. Whats your point?

On their day any of these tops teams can beat each other.

Forget Gotze! I want Ozil!!

No but in all seriousness...I think it's quite unlikely for us to sign him. We should look in Ligue 1 there is some fantastic players! The likes of Ayew or Marvin Martin, those two are very good and would probably have and immediate impact on our squad.

Not nearly as promising as German or Brazilian youth.
That's hardly surprising, or ever going to change...

I suppose with the successful current German team based on a newer breed of players comes the overall rating of their young players en masse. Which is of course nonsense, as individuals should be judged as just that.

cuz they're 19 years old and not 23...i've read an interesting article about joki low in which he was talking about gotze and how cerebral he is at his age...he wants all his players to take football at a higher level..going through a lot of tactics, a lot of practice so at the of the day the boys could play as he wants to. anyways no matter how hard you're trying to argue me look at italy's young players (3,4 years ago or right now) and except balotelli and marchisio (who started showing himself only this year) all of them are meh..

Might be already posted.
"I think in Europe all the top clubs are interested in Mario," Hebel told Calcio Mercato. "I can confirm that I have had contact with Juventus and Manchester United, but not only them.

"I don't know if he'll go away after this season - you should ask Borussia - but I think that they will not let him leave for less than €40 million. He still is very happy at Dortmund, though now he is injured."

Well, perhaps staying @ Dortmund for another year is a blessing in disguise. We can then focus all our efforts on acquiring him in the summer of 2013; it's not as far fetched or unreasonable as it may seem.
