I disagree. The guy wanted to move on and was unstable and under-performing for a year. We kept him for 4 years which is a long time in football terms and we recouped a nice sum of money from him way more than what he had cost us in both transfer fee and salary over the last 4 years. I do believe we should have gotten more out of him if he was indeed sold for 40. 10-20 mill more would keep me happy but alas whats done is done.

Management is not replacing him with an unknown young kid like staruro, they brought in a seasoned player like Khedira to fill in for Vidal. Surely he is not 2013 Vidal and will probably never reach this level but he should definitely be good enough. We replaced a big name with another big name for free and made a giant profit along the way. I'd be worried if we left his place empty.

Its a good transfer market in the sense that we bought replacements for all those who have left and are likely to reinforce even more. However, the real worry is more general. There are too much changes for my liking and too much uncertainty. The team we will see this season is completely new, with a totally new core. Conte's main players (aside from defense and Marchisio) are all gone. Hopefully the winning mentality doesnt go with them.

I am not too worried. Allegri finished 2nd with a milan who sold Ibra and Silva and had Shaarawy and Balotelli (half-season) as their best players. With Pogba, Marchisio, Dybala, Morata, and our very solid defense we should be fine.
I am not worried domestically either but at the same time it won't be as easy as last season.

Fuck this guy. If he has to put us on hold as he waits for "better" offers he can get stuffed. I wonder how it looks to Draxler being put on the back burner while we wait on someone better. I think there's more of a chance for complacency and a willingness to leave after a while with Gotze. Draxler seems like the type of player hell bent on proving himself at the highest level and he could stay for a long time.
That's a tricky opinion. We mustn't forget that from a players perspective he is leaving the team he loves, a team from his country where he is close to family, and one that's paying him a decent salary than a team that's not as big in comparison at the moment, in a league that's not as visible alongside the likes of the EPL and La Liga, and last, but certainly not the least, the money on offer is less than what he is being paid currently. From a fans perspective we can question his approach, but in his shoes I reckon I'd do the same.

That's why it's a pipe dram to sign him. The same goes for Isco. Some people will go full retard here once we seal Draxler "but Gotze was to be taken, Beppe didn't push enough".

Gotze was never an option for us and he never considered joining us that's my bet. All he wanted to do is to use our interest and put some pressure on Bayern's management as well as Guardiola. I'm sure Gotze would prefer to sit one more year on the bench and wait for Guardiola to go than to come here.
If Goetze goes elsewhere this summer, then I'd disagree with that theory. However, if he chooses to stay on the bench for Bayern, then to me at least, I'd say our salary cut offer was not good enough. It's one thing to consider his differences with his club, that could get us a slightly better transfer fee, but because of his age and talent, he is not at a point in his career where he will need to take a pay cut to ply his trade and he's aware of that. Doesn't make him any less of a professional than Draxler, who as his agent has claimed considers his future every summer. Ambition isn't just linked to playing regularly or in a certain profile of team, it is also linked in a very big way to money, and it applies across cultures and sport.

He won't take a paycut if he were to come here .People should get atleast that concept out of their mind apart from other delusions.
Yes, and why should he? If he doesn't move to Juve this season, he will easily end up next season at another club that will at least match his salary if not pay more.

is it ok if new player have salary 2 million more than buffon?
So if Juve could sign CR7 or Messi, you wouldn't sign them? The club is growing, it's business is expanding, and eventually it is going to come to working with bigger salary caps, because it comes with the territory. Those higher salaries are what's going to keep players happy, and help the club retain its core and sell more jerseys over a longer period of time, and get bigger sponsorships. Whether you or I want it or not, eventually it will happen.

 harsh

I am. It's amazing how simple everyone thinks it's going to be. It's not.

actually, i do not want player/coach who think he is bigger than juve.

when new player get salary 2m more than buffon, i am just afraid new player would think like that.

That's a bit of a contradiction, because by this logic, you're also implying Buffon is bigger than the club :)

Bayern Munich President Karl-Heinz Rummenigge says Mario Gotze is 'not for sale’, ruling out a move to Juventus.

The Bianconeri were believed to be targeting the German international, as an alternative to his compatriot Julian Draxler.

It had been suggested that the Turin giants were holding off on finalising a move for Draxler while they waited to see if there was a possibility of getting Gotze, and it now appears that avenue is closed.

“We haven’t put any players up for sale, including Gotze,” Rummenigge insisted in an interview with Kicker.

“Everyone deserves a second chance, and that includes Mario. He has all of our support, and he’ll stay with us.”

Basically, Götze told him he wanted to stay, and they now act like he's getting a second chance.
This is gonna be a very awkward season for him and Guardiola, and i will enjoy watching them suffer.

I also hope he's on the bench 180 minutes when we knock out Bayern thanks to an excellent Draxler+Dybala performance. And that Vidal plays but fucks up consistantly.

Meh, he said the same about Shweini and Kroos.

Technically, this could indeed also mean the board is acting like "Did everyone see how we want to give Götze a second chance ? Look at him leaving on his own will now, the schweinehund!"

But i dont believe thats the case.
