EXCLUSIVE: The Germany international has been heavily linked with a move to Turin and he says that he is a fan of the Bianconeri

Bayern Munich ace Mario Gotze has played down reports that he is on his way to Juventus but nonetheless expressed his admiration for the Serie A champions.

The versatile attacker moved to the Allianz Arena in the summer of 2013 after the Bavarians agreed to meet his €37 million buy-out clause at Borussia Dortmund.

However, he has struggled to nail down a regular berth in Pep Guardiola's starting berth and is now being pursued by Juve, who are looking for a new No.10.

Gotze has denied that he is set to join the Bianconeri but hinted that he would welcome a move to Turin.

"I think that Juventus reached the Champions League final not by chance but because they had a great season last year," the World Cup winner told Goal.

"They managed to win titles in the last year and they are a big, big club.

"But, at the moment, I don't want to comment because there's nothing to say ... at the moment.

"I think that playing abroad might be a good experience for me: new languages, new cultures. I might like it.

"But, as I said, I'm just at the early stage of my career. Let's see what the future brings."

Giving a #10 shirt for a loan player is insulting.
We did give it to a player who was a risk to leave after half a season due to homesickness, or, as it happened, to leave after at most 2 seasons.

I don't care about the number Gotze would get if he joins. If our marketing team, or whoever's responsible, thinks that Gotze #10 is the jersey that will sell the most, or more than Gotze#30, then I'd rather he gets the #10 than to leave it unassigned.

That makes no sense. The point is to make the team better and by doing so we can invest more. Having top players in the starting 11 is what we need to get better. Who cares if there is a buy back.. we still have a great player for however long and if he stays great ... if he goes back we recover the money from the buy back and buy another top player. We would hopefully make even more money than just the buy back based on good play and going far in the CL.
With a good buyback clause we would have used a world class player for at least two years and have 50-60 ml outright after that. It's a good deal. We need a big name like Gotze to show that this team is ambitious and right now this is the best way to acquire him. Let's hope we'll get him :xfinger:

We need a longer term player where we can have a project behind not just a temporary player

Thats another reason
There is no certainty the player would accept the return anyway. In the end it would be the player to decide if he wants to return.

Why not have one of the best attacking mids in the world for 2 years and if he likes it here he can tell Bayern he is staying .. if he goes we recover the money and simply put it back in another top trequartista. I dont think we need to make ourselves dependant on building around one player .. rather just have a solid team and if in 2 years we need to sell back Gotze and buy the next big attacking mid so be it.

Tevez gave us 2 years of great play and no one regrets bringing him even though we lost his transfer fee. Also I dont regret signing Morata with his clause... as long as it means we can bring in the quality we need and Juve continues to advance and profit. I try to be less sentimental and think of whats in Juve's best interest. Having Gotze in our line up would be in our best interest.

No room for getting too sentimental about numbers and letting it get into the way of a better squad and more revenue :agree:

I am with Alen on this one, if Götze for two years will bring us two great seasons, then let him go back to Bayern. Two great seasons with CL money, domestical trophies and more fans and publicity will see us capable of buying and locking stars on a more permanent fashion.

Yeah Tevez wore it for 2 years so who cares if Gotze wears it for 2 years (worst case). Also in modern football we need to think of profit and results ... so having a superstar wearing our 10 will sell jerseys and win games on the field. Don't think "what if he leaves or what if they activate buy back" .. we can cross that bridge when it comes. Most important thing is bringing in the top player. Then we can worry about keeping him (like Morata situation)

When you put it this way... It still feels wrong though.

Fair trade. They want Vidal - we ask for Gotze. Both are worth €40-45m.

Too bad we must sacrifice to make these signings, although Gotze might not be a player you can just buy...

Why do you feel the need to write such tripe????
Hard to accept reality ,i guess.

It doesn't go well with the fan, I know. But have in mind that capable people came up with such a solution. It's more of a necessity than anything else.

The Juve starting XI that played in the CL final was made of Buffon, Marchisio and 9 other players that we bought for a total of 65-70m euro. To create such a team for so little money doesn't happen often. We were lucky AND capable and we did create this team, but it's like a 1 in a 1000 chance to do it again by buying freebies and 10m euro players.
Now, once we arrived among the best, the struggle is to stay there. Eventually, we'll stay there permanently once our revenue hits the sky and we'll be able both to keep our stars AND buy the top players for big money. But we're far from that. We'll need to have at least 2-3 very good/great seasons, win more fans, attract sponsors etc.
But we were an old team and the big sharks would have eventually bought our stars anyway. Then what? Start from zero again? No, we'll keep looking for potential stars like Pogba or for great deals like Tevez and Vidal for circa 10m eur. But that won't be enough this time. Now we'll also need to get proven top quality. And at the moment, unfortunately, we can only do it with these buyback clauses.
So, whatever's needed in order to get that revenue and stay at the top. I'll take even the short term embarrassment.
I can't disagree with you,it makes sense, but still as you said, the fan in me just rejects this kind of deals.
We should pursue other targets without clauses.

What I love about Marotta is that he doesn't have the ego problems stopping him from doing good deals. Of course he would like to have Morata and Götze without the recompras in the deals.

Tevez didn't have a recompra in his deal but it was still an short term solution that served us well. I don't get why people are feeling so insecure and inferior around here. We are a big club and will stay as one.

The thing is that with all the money PL teams are making with their tv deals and the spending power that the likes of Barca, Real and Bayern have we have to stay creative and reasonable in our dealings.

We also have a good group of youngster coming through who we have big faith in. Berardi and Coman will hopefully be world class in 2-3 years and then there are these Vadala type of players that can also become good so buying someone great to play for us for 2-3 three years is not a bad deal if we end up making 10-20m as bonus also.
