Fair trade. They want Vidal - we ask for Gotze. Both are worth €40-45m.

Too bad we must sacrifice to make these signings, although Gotze might not be a player you can just buy...
Vidal is a great great player but he is not a great 10 and we will be improving the team having Gotze in the trequartista position instead of Vidal. Its sad but it will improve us and we are solid in terms of defensive mids. This is the only solace I take in losing Vidal who was my fav player the last few years

I know.

I LOVE Foo Fighters. Absolutely love them. My favorite band of the last 20 years.

But Mario...................................................................................................
It most definitely won't be announced today if we get him, so you're safe to go.

What are they playing, new stuff? A mix of new and old?

That makes no sense. The point is to make the team better and by doing so we can invest more. Having top players in the starting 11 is what we need to get better. Who cares if there is a buy back.. we still have a great player for however long and if he stays great ... if he goes back we recover the money from the buy back and buy another top player. We would hopefully make even more money than just the buy back based on good play and going far in the CL.
It doesn't make sense to buy quality players, groome them for a couple of seasons just to send them back when their teams calls them back. What about the team's stability ?

If we're paying 30 mil now for Gotze I'd bet he's buy back price likely to be around 40-45 mil not more.

I can understand that kind of deals from clubs like Udinese or Lazio point of view. These are clubs that wants to make profits and very rarely care about keeping a standard for their game.

But a club like Juve, this makes no sense no matter how you look at it. I give Marotta and Paratici credit for spotting talents out there who had done well with us. But as far as negotiation and making deals I really have doubts about Marotta to be honest. I still believe the man has a small club mentality in many of his deals.

If buyback is what it takes to get players like gotze and morata, from clubs that really dont need to sell, we must simply do it. When our club is trying to be selfsustaining, and not depend on oilmoney, selling players will always be a part of it.

His buy back won't be less than 50mils. I am willing to bet on that. If everything goes well he will bring us around 50 mils in the two years by the time he wants to go back. And honestly - whatever happens, no matter of agents and so forth, when it comes to top players these days they are the masters of their own destiny.

also we should have no problem giving him 6-7m in salary if that is what he wants

only this summer we've let go of Tevez, Pirlo and Vidal who are some of our top earners. Llorente who is also making massive money is also on his way out.

its a great coup IF it happens and will show the rest of europe that we're no dortmund.

If we spend 20 million on a player and use him for 4 years thats essentially paying 5 million a year transfer fee and then whatever his wages are. To get a player for 30 with the guarantee of selling him for 40 we are getting the services of a player with essentially zero transfer fee (actually a 10m euro profit) while getting however many years of service we get. Gotze is not a project where we have to sacrifice the quality of the team to help him develop. He is one of the best in the world so we would benefit from him in our line up, profit from him on the buy back and profit from him in sales, marketing and trophies.

Any argument against him coming is mainly just pride. Winning is more important and we have to grow bit by bit in order to get to the stage where we can attract any player in the world like Barca do. A few years back we could not sign any stars so had to settle for Tiago and Almiron .. now we can get Gotze and hopefully we continue to win and grow and then can have players fighting to move here with no buyback but its a process. We need to just ensure success on the field to keep growing.
