You do sound like you think you got everything covered though, with all the "stopped bidding" parts, like you actually know the reasons for that. I'm not blaming the kid if he really accepted that awesome offer from the French team. I know I would too. And don't try to deflect my words, hehe. Delaying his decision won't mean that he's telling them to go fuck themselves. It would have merely been a warning for the club he publicly declared he loves so much.
I'm basing what I said on the somewhat public comments of how the dealings were going a while back, and the part of stopped bidding is based on, you know, our last bid being a while back and the Pescara DS saying we cant come to agreement with Juve so we will take Verratti off the market, this also a while back.

And if an ambitious club bids what Pescara wants for him, and Verratti says I will wait for another, thats is basically indirectly declining them. And to say the least, he wouldnt need to do that to alert Juve of a possible deal with PSG, they would be one of the first to notice a player they are interested in are being sold to another club. Reason they arent doing anything is like you have said in your posts, they didnt deem it worth bidding that sum for him, fairly obvious, so why should the player be the only one obligated to keep waiting around in such a scenario?

People saying we should have added another €1/2M or so to our offer as if it was their own money they're talking about is priceless.

Do you realize how delusionally arrogant you sound like? And what you just said already happend with ITALIAN clubs, was reported Genoa/Inter and Napoli deals were stopped because of the players preference for us. But there is only for so long you can ride on that, until you take it to the next level and actually come to a compromise with the club that owns him, and you know...sign him? Not just hold them "hostage" over the the bit of him being a Juve fan, like its the only factor that matters in a negotiation.
Chill man, I dont blame him for making this desicion. Thats his desicion, if he thinks its right it is right. But some people here are blaming Marotta for not paying what Pescara wanted for him. Thats not fair.

Verratti didnt want us that badly so we could play with Pescara. Thats it. We too apparently didnt wanted him so much, thats why we didnt overpaid for him.

At the end of the day, its nothing serious. We lose a player that didnt wanted us that much as he said, and we didnt overpaid as his club demanded.

I just didnt liked one think in him. We negotiated with his team, and he says he is in love with Juve, Alex and Pirlo are his idols, it would be fantastic to have Pirlo as a mentor... Then, the negotiations stalled, PSG offered him a lot more than us, and he doesnt think twise about it. But its fine, no one blames him for that, its his desicion.

If these €12m/€13m figures are true I agree with not signing him.

We have a stacked CM now, and can't put that sort of money into that area.
This

And add to that, that if Verratti's Juve-love is true. We will be in pole position to sign him, when he wants a new challenge.

We regurarly bid and buy players we dont even plan on keeping for such sums (we bought that Bologna CM Taider in January for such sums, only to sell him back this summer lol). Adding extra fee to come to a compromise with a very interesting talent we wanted would hardly been a stretch. Those kinda wheeling and dealing bids are common for a top club, we apparently just bought a Serie B youngster called Boayke for 4m for his half few days ago, which went fairly unnoticed by most, also bought Leali for similar sum it seems, who will prolly be just another young goalie who never see time in Juve shirt like all of the others before him. If we didnt bid enough to buy half of Verratti in similar sums (4-6m or so I mean), its either because we dont want him enough (not a priority, which I defenitely get, though signing for the future is allways priority for me), or we put too much trust on the bit of him wanting us to the point we were trying to hold it against Pescara and wait it out. Which has shown to be not a good tactic if it was the case.

Pescara surely wouldn't, and I don't see why should we neither, so it's at least obvious that he was to be the one who waits here if he really felt that way. My point is, it's easy to make assumptions on what could've happened. He publicly declared his love, we stood by our offer, Pescara received a better offer and Verratti agreed to its terms. As I have said, a lot of times too, it's useless yet so very easy to blame anyone here.

We had the chance to close the deal for around 4-4,5 but we diden't. I really can't understand how people are pointing the finger on Verratti,Pescara,Psg.

They hade a supertalent in their hands, we where not ready to pay the fair price they demanded. 4,5 million euros for his half would have been a smart deal for us. In any case as mentioned many times, we wouldent loose money on this. It was a deal without any big risks for loosing money. And in 2 years time we will look for a replacement for Pirlo, good luck to Marotta.

So let's act like you fool are doing and blame Juventus, even if we're more than stacked in his positions and have other important holes to fill in the team.

and 2m per year can change everyone minds. He can still be a juventus fan, it is not that he signed for milan or inter.

I am sure that they wanted more than 4,5m for one half of him.

I won't even dare asking you how did you come to that conclusion, but I guess I kinda am.

I expect one of Appelt and Bouy to be good enough to take over by then, most likely the former.
