Motta, nothing new that he suffers defensively, but its more then that, he is extrmely UN-aggressive, its not just lack of defensive awareness/positioning, but the mofo just walks around when he can chase and push his markers. I saw the same against Cassano, walking by him, and I figured he was intidimated, but it seems to be his routine, defending in walking pace. Need to bitchslapped til he actually tries more.

2 flop
A few misplaced passes almost allowed Pastore a second when he slipped in the box. Got forward to aid Krasic, but needs to improve defensively if he is to mature into a top class full-back.

But i like Caceres more, i feel more assured at the back when he played. at least he is running and can be rock in defense (remember the Juve-Inter match)
Back to the game against Palermo, he cost us the first goal.. again, his defending is dreadful and seem disinterested when defend.

Yep, too bad he was either too expensive, or that would he have filled one of the non EU spot when we wanted Krasic and Dzeko. Caceres wasn't super amazing or anything, but he did deliver some really good crosses and had a great shot in a few games not to mention his defensive qualities were a lot better than Motta's. His decision making was terrible though.

Still, in Marotta's head:

Italian + cheap > dirty foreigner + more expensive

I guess you get what you pay for sometimes.

Stuff going forward - a defenders main role first and foremost is to defend. This guy unfortunately cannot defend.

PS: wtf is with the 80s style hairdo? Looks like a friggin goose!

I don't think you realized, but you contradicted your point in the same post there.

How can you say that Marotta only wants Italian and cheap players when if he would have gotten Caceres instead, we would not be able to get either Krasic or Dzeko, as you admitted yourself?

Yep, the UN are not aggressive at all :D

I really like him going forward, hopefully Delneri's extra defensive training will pay off in the long run, right now it seems we are conceding goals from everywhere, all areas of the pitch.

Dusan, stop playing the "Italian-centric" card. :D
I'm not an Azzurri fanboy, nor do I prefer Italians over foreigners, but Cassani is good and people acknowledging that has little to do with him being Italian. Being the best Italian RB might not say too much, you're right, but it also doesn't mean that the man is not very good. He is very good.
And trust me, it means a lot when I say something like that for an Italian footballer :D
