Not one to argue too much, been fan of Motta since Atalanta debute, but may I ask if you would said the above if he wasnt a Juve player? I doubt it, was little to no murmurs about him in this forum before we signed him, except the typical few who followed him a while. The reason I'm quoting you is, he isnt far superior to Maggio and Cassani AT ALL.

At least, i hope, we can all agree that Motta is far superior to Grygera and Zebina, with time still to improve further.

Maybe Prandelli actually watched some of his performances last season when he was bad enough to get benched for other Roma RB's. I don't know why it's such a surprise.

This is too much of a knee jerk reaction to the game against Shamrock (like the "who needs Dzeko, we've got Amauri" post). Cassani and Maggio actually did perform for a whole season.
:howler:

My sig!!

By the way, Motta should have been red carded for that face slap right before the end of the game. He was lucky no one saw it.

got to the multimedia thread and watch the link with all the youtube videos that break down the game into sections. It's the last video and juve where on a counter attack with DP/Amauri/Motta surging forward. As motta passed his man he took a cheap swipe at the Shamrock player. The Shamrock player went down with a bloody nose, remember? (Watch Motta's run at about 90:13-90:14....you will see him swipe at his face.)

Cheap shot, very stupid, and it kinda pisses me off this punk would do that in his first real Juve game as we are trying to qualify for Europe.

That's unsportsmanlike conduct, he could be fined if UEFA/FIFA get asked to look into it by Shamrock.

He clearly took a swipe at his face, Marcello. You're right , these things do happen and when caught the players get punished for it. There was no reason whatsoever to make contact with that guys face....it's not like it was Motta's left hand since the player was on his left side...Motta made a clear effort with his right hand to reach across his own body to strike the other player. How is that not an offense?

To me it didn't look that bad, these things often happen in a duel.Maybe it was unnecessary, but when you run at full speed, your arms can easily go left and right :p

On a serious note though,he didn't deserve a red card for that. It's a man's sport and I'm generally against petty refereeing.

EDit: Plus he's too handsome to be sent off.

If it was Marchisio that swung then that Irish guy would have been red carded

I really worry with his defensive ability.. damn, with De Ceglie on the left and Motta on the right, we are so vulnerable when opponents attack us on the flank.. He's not playing great defensively against Sturm Graz and before against Milan in TIM..

If Krasic doesn't play this weekend then Pepe should be on the right. Which ever flank he is playing on has looked much stronger defensively and DN seems to have noticed.
