so anyone actually seen this guy in action? I like the idea of a young paraguyan capped player ahead of a mid aged olive overdosed italian miss sitter, may i say mediocre giac. Also how the hell do you pronounce this paraguyans surname. These names are getting all the more difficult

I've only seen him in the Copa America, but he seemed to be a classic 4-4-2 winger.

Good pace, good cross, okay dribbling, hard working.

Buying players for this fucked up 4-4-2 formation every year. :sergio:
Of course, Juve should be buying players that suit a system the coach won't play.

Feel free to complain about the appointment of 4-4-2 coaches, but you can't complain about players being bought for the coach's system.

4-4-2 is revised to 4-2-4 or atleast its how i understand it
It's just 4-4-2 with attacking wingers.

You wouldn't say that a team playing 4-4-2 was playing 2-6-2 just because they used attacking fullbacks, so I don't see why Conte's system is being called 4-2-4.

Although, 6-2-1-1 would be quite a good description of how Delneri had Juve playing when trying (and failing) to defend a lead.

Technically, a 4-2-4 has to have 4 strikers :agree:

4-2-3-1 is a 4-5-1 and 4-1-4-1 is also a 4-5-1.

I don't know where the current obsession with precise labelling of a system came from.

Where is the line drawn between 4-2-3-1, 4-4-1-1 and 4-4-2, if you play a free-roaming SS?

They are all much of a muchness.
