Genoa turn to Blasi

Newly promoted Genoa are pondering a bid for Manuele Blasi of Juventus – despite the cost involved.

The port club are looking to significantly strengthen ahead of their much-awaited Serie A return and the midfielder is on their radar.

It is understood that Juve have told the Grifoni that the Italian international is available for transfer on a co-ownership basis.

Although buying 50 per cent of his contract would only cost the Rossoblu around £1.8m, his wages would pose a problem.

Blasi earns a significant amount of money on a yearly basis which could be a hurdle for a club the size of Genoa.

Nevertheless, chief Enrico Preziosi is seriously thinking about making such a financial sacrifice for the man who spent last term on loan at Fiorentina.

Juventus have already sold one midfielder to Genoa this summer after Matteo Paro, who scored the club’s first ever goal in Serie B history, left Turin.

Blasi, who will turn 27 in August, started his career with hometown club Roma before moves to Lecce, Perugia and Parma.
