Held off judging him, but damn he’s just too stagnant. Doesn’t fit today’s pace or what Tudor wants in his football. Too static, too slow in the build up. Best used off the bench or in Coppa games, not as a starter.
im serious when I say he should switch to CB, especially in a 3 back system. It’s not even a crazy concept, slower mids are making the switch pretty frequently these days. I can think of multiple just in serie A.

If the time score situation calls for more defensive attention from the midfeield and more dictated build up from his role then he might be the guy. But the team now has creative pacey players that warrant a go go go attack. Also, Thurman in is also a catalyst that can offer more from the midfield but hindered by a setup that features suckatelli

Just to build on this the types of players we have now command attention and democracy- not pacing and side passes. Opponents will have to pick their poison with a line up featuring kenan Lois Jonathon Chico or edon. Suckstelli works for timid play. The squad construction indicates aggressive play in possession and taking the game to the opponent.

...Suckstelli works for timid play..
not even that, we conceded 2 while not having any possession with him on the pitch

he didn't make any glaring mistakes but him as a reference point is just too weak and predictable. he's also easily pressed. it should work in a 3-man midfield, but alongside david, he's probably the least compatible with our current formation and tactical setup

i don't have a crystal ball but i wouldn't be surprised if the lack of a midfield reinforcement would eventually turn out to be a bigger mistake than not signing wingbacks for this season
