I’ll just repost this here so that it can sink in for everyone.

Locatelli looks like the official vicecapitano which is scary knowing that Danilo might very well miss more than a few games this season, and also doesnt have more than a season or two before we move him on too which makes me even more worried on the long run.

Really hope somebody else steps up and takes leadership once Locatelli inevitably gets found out and benched more often than not.

Who the fuck cares about who wears the captains band at any point of any game. It's completely irrelevant and the last thing anyone should be worried about right now

Some people on here act like it's super important and only the captain and vice captain can be leaders on the team.

There is no Buffon, Del Piero, Chiellini, etc that makes it feel important symbolically because they were massive players.

Chillax man, why so aggresive lol? For any football club and fanbase this is an important and sensitive point of discussion, even in your post you start with mentioning how irrelevant it is and then went on to reffer to previous legendary captains of the club and that it actually matters if you have world class players leading by example instead of average jabronis staining the legacy.

You can't give the vicecapitano rôle to such a discredited player, he has no legitimacy to speak on behalf of others given his level.

Danilo too, not sure he's an indisputable starter all year. No choice, it's either Vlahovic or Bremer
Not Vlahovic.

No, make no mistake, it's pretty irrelevant --- and yes, there are no legendary players that can symbolically be the captain and represent the club, so who cares anyway.

It's the same argument I'd have about Pinsoglio. Whoever the #3 keeper is just doesnt matter. I'd hear how important he is to winning because he brings great chemistry to the locker room. But as soon as Juve stopped winning, all of a sudden, that leadership and chemistry doesnt matter.

Whoever wears an arm band during any game will have zero impact on the result of that game. I'm more interested in finding and developing the talent that would one day become worthy of symbolically representing the club with an arm band.

Every summer things changes hands about captains, and it allways leads to needless discussions about who should be or who is fitting.

Every time someone points out how that doesn't matter. Let be that this time:

It's SOLELY about seniority lol. So that's why Locatelli will get it next after Danilo, or share it with Vlaho. They been around same length of time. It's why Rabiot was one too last season.

The magic word is seniority, that's it. It doesn't signal anything about who stays or for how long or who fits it leadership or importance wise.

Locatelli cant be starting this team
well he will

i've said many times that i don't think he's a. bad player but he's way more limited than what we are used to. pirlo was easily world class even in his decline and pjanic also grown well into the regista role, but loca isn't that player. huge downgrade and one of the main reasons why we can't challenge for the scudetto. maybe if he got back his sassuolo role, god knows

and that's not based on today's match. this was some open training. judging players based on this is pointless

Truth is that i don’t think anyone is arguing the reasoning behind it, it’s obviously about seniority, just a sad state of affairs overall that we got to this point.

Leadership in any organisation is important right? Danilo isn't the same leader as ADP, buffon or chiellini. It meant something more once upon a time.
