No lol. Stay away from mediocre Italians who crumble under pressure.
You really think Trashtelli, a fucking Milan reject, will make us serious contenders for the CL? the answer is NO.

Locatelli :sergio: please stop..we have enough mediocrity in midfield.

Made the big move way too early, he was only 18, and Bayerns midfield at that time wasn't exactly crap either: Xabi Alonso, Javi Martinez, Thiago and Vidal. Make one mistake and your ass will get benched = no growth/development.

At Swansea he had injury problems.

He is a different player now, his confidence is restored.

Btw, Bentancur > Locatelli

His value in the books is 12m and earns 5.5m net a year. If Koopmeiners arrives……we have Koop, Luiz, Thuram, Fagioli with Miretti, Adzic and Nonge. I don’t see how you can pay this guy that salary for being a squad player.

If someone is willing to pay anything close to his value on transfermkt of 20m, I’d sell him in a heartbeat.

He earns 5.5? Are you sure? I am pretty sure it’s closer to 4.5m

adzic is an attacking player, koopmeiners isn't primarily a cm (and atalanta's requests are outrageous, i'm still not sure he'll arrive), nonge might be sold. i don't think any of them will compete with locatelli for a starting spot. and locatelli earns 5.5m gross, 3.5m net

btw it's his book value thst matters. that's coincidentally very close to his tm value, ~19m currently

but its 5.5m gross right? If thats the case i would totally keep him, we should have 5 strong midfielders for the upcoming season.

the squad also needs at least 8 players who came through italy youth system to register for league and cl.

so currently

locatelli
di gregorio
perin
pinosoglo
miretti
fagioli
cambiaso
chiesa
de sigiolo
rugani
gatti

so if rugani, chiesa, miretti leave that leaves 8 players

He will obviously get a game before the younger midfielders and will be good enough for rotation in that midfield. The question is whether motta can unlock whatever the fuck it is that has locatelli stuck in first gear. To me he just looked like he couldn't give two fucks last season. Unlike last season, he has stiff competition in that midfield, maybe that will ignite something for him.

Always had the feeling once he signed for us he assumed he had made it and has since rested on his laurels.

If he doesn't start this season playing for with a fire in his belly then there'll be no hope for him.

Man thought he was a sure starter for one of the worst Italian sides of all time but was left behind for a player that hasn't kicked a ball in a year.

He's now down the pecking order here so this season is make or break for him.

Sell him and get Fabian Ruiz, I believe @Lion will be happy. At least with Fabian, we know players like Thuram, Fagioli and Miretti will get a better role model midfielder, instead of looking up to Locatelli

Ruiz may be going to Arsenal. @Lion will be happy cheering for Arsenal.

He can throat their sporting director Edu Gaspar who doesn't have budget issues and who makes signings based on their needs.

Manuel Locatelli on 'Sky Sport': "It's a shame about the goal we conceded at the last minute, but in the end I think we played a good game. Feelings about the new staff? They brought a lot of enthusiasm, then they are very sincere and direct people. And this is certainly important, you have to have clear ideas and I think there is room to do a great job. Is it right to be patient or does Juve start to win? The motto is always the same, then you have to be honest in everything. We work to win and every day we train to win, but you have to take one step at a time without talking too much about victories or anything else, you have to work humbly every day. Then the results will be seen. European Championship? It's clear that I suffered a huge disappointment, but they are all negative energies that I leave alone. I concentrate on the present, I focus on work and I think about that every day".
