I hope Motta can revive Locatelli - Locatelli is actually a good player in my books that went over a horrible spell.
Someone here described him well, he is a good complementary DM alongside other two high quality CM’s that have vision and can create for the team, however thus far he has been taking up a role of someone that is expected to bring creativity and that wants to lead the midfield, which ultimately enhances his shortcomings.

Completely agree.

In a sense he's like Tacchinardi. The sort of player who can perform really well in a team filled with talent and might actually make everything gel together. But the first to suffer when the quality around him drops.

I really think he was played out of position. His stats in the season look very poor - but look at his stats when he was at Sassuolo - very high and he played well at the last Euros under Mancini. Clearly he is not the player he was - and I suspect Allegri had a lot to do with it. Lets see if Motta can bring out the best in him.

Yap. It is a good description.

Agree. His YT career highlights would be no more than 30 seconds. That is his problem.

He played 2 games at the Euro’s because Verratti was injured and was benched for the remainder.

Hope being left out puts him in a good mental state to help Motta get the best out of him. Don't be a sulker, you haven't played well to be on team. I kinda like only 2 Juve players on squad. Less possible injuries occurring.

What exactly was the meaning of the "black only page" posting?

What an honest and true assessment. A lot of this is on Allegri though, Loca was a different beast at euros and with Sassuolo, so you know he has more to offer. He still has to get better though. Hopefully Motta puts him in better positions.
——

Spalletti: “Locatelli is another disappointment I have. Locatelli is a true professional with exceptional defensive qualities. He has a good foot when it comes to doing certain things, but he is too conservative for how the role is evolving. But he will be back here and I apologise again for not calling him.”

Damn thats a big statement, Allegri won't like it too since all know its more directed towards the team style rather than the player only.

And something we all agree on for all players development under Allegri now and in the past. At best Allegri can guide towards stagnation (stronger defensively but loss elsewhere). Pjanic towards the end reminded more of Loca rather than himself when he arrived.
