From my view offensively missed completing a few easy passes but thought Locatelli did a good job defensively.

We lose his capability to surge like Pogba did, because he is playing deep. If we have strong holding mid, he and Pogba can change turn to surge from both mid giving option for our attacking. He need to ready to shoot from distance (he can do that with Italy NT). With more shoots from distance from Pogba and Locatelli, the chance for tap in after rebound will be higher for Vlahovic

And that is the only way to maximize his prowess in passing in the final third and improve our chance to create more goals. I hope Zakaria can be that holding mid for next season, then we need to get a player like Kante who still young and have unlimited stamina

Ofc this were just preseason games but i think at this moment in time and especially for the first months of the season Locatelli is probably the only guarantee we have in midfield and a lot of responsibility and hope towards having a functioning midfield will be on his shoulders, everyone else that matters is either injured, inconsistent(also limited) or still too young(with good potential for improvement but just not yet the finished product).

Hopefully he manages to stay fit and continue with this same good form for as long as possible.

Some players are so great that they have their numbers retired out of respect.
