No emotion or anything in what he does. His indifference surpasses Pjanic's. 30 meter shot on the bar and doesnt care.

He doesnt have the do or die attitude on the pitch that world class strikers like Quag do have.
For you it's weakness, but think about it other way. I think (not only in that case) that being cold-blooded as striker can be good. Players like that don't worry about missed shot, they move on and keep looking for another chance without being upset.

Of course, I know that anger after failure is a good motivator, but I don't see this in Fabio. Tevez is better a example.

I like this theory.

So, the fact that he played his ass off last night is meaningless because he didn't swear at the sky because his shot hit the crossbar?
Yeah, because cursing is what I meant

His dribbels and his 1-on-1 with Chiellini in the box all looked like he was always going to get destroyed by Giorgio.

I just dont see him as a future star of Juventus.

No age is good enough for tuzzies, it seems. With regards to Cerci, I'm hearing: he'll be 27 soon!! And here it's: He'll be 24-25 by then.

How young must players be, ffs?

Albertmare United over here.
im saying we should get OUR players back earlier than 25... at 22-23 players are already developed very well and there is no need to play on loans anymore (ofcourse if they are good enough to play for us, or even for the bench)

A thousand pardons.

However, you were leading me to believe that his perceived indifference to his missed shot was what you were referring to in regards to his character

Need to see Gabbiadini get time playing centrally, but I suspect he's too one dimensional to become a really good player.

Too much about nothing. All three will be non-starters for Juve probably in the end. Three Miccolis at best.
I'm starting to feel foolish about predicting Giovinco would turn out to be a Miccoli-level player...

Well, not as foolish as those who helped legitimize the resentment he generated about potentially becoming Del Piero's heir.

To those who said they want to see him back as a CF, well, Gabbiadini really started hitting that 3rd gear only when he was shifted to that right wing. I for one hope he doesn't change roles anytime soon. He's only getting better and both his crosses and shots have been a mark of a really promising winger.

In all fairness to Gabbiadini and Berardi, Immobile is surrounded with better players.

Care to elaborate?
He needs to show he's got more that a good shot on him.

Does he have the vision and awareness to bring other people into the game?

Does he understand how to move as a centre forward - both from the point of view of leading the line and getting in goal-scoring positions?

If all he's got is a good left foot then he's going to be too limited to play at a high level.

I'd also be somewhat concerned that he doesn't seem to show much aggression. If you are a reasonably big guy like he is and don't have the pace to beat a man, your movement is likely to have to be very good for you to make it as a centre forward who isn't going to show the aggression to make use of your stature.

That said, playing from the left is likely to make him look like a very one-dimensional player.

There's not that much he can do from there beyond cutting in and shooting.

@Red, I remember you said that Manolo has very good movement and an eye for the goal after he equalised against Inter in the final minutes last season or two playing for Bologna. Some inconsistency here ;).

What's more, I would argue with You that he has no grinta and has no pace. I doubt he's located on the wing in his second consecutive team for no reason. In my view he's fast but he was getting many too long passes in the game against us. Also he showed that he's a highly motivated player when he was the most dangerous Samp's player in the first half.

Considering he's about 6'2" he's very mobile, it's just that more often than not he plays with his back to a player or coming inside off the wing to shoot.

He doesnt have any elite skill in him.If he wants to make it in the big stage ,maybe he needs to hone his movement and poaching skills. He played on the wing at Bologna as well and i dint see him use his left foot as much as now either. He does have a really good left foot, maybe he can work on that as well.

Basically he needs to be more productive in terms of goals and assists otherwise he's set for mid-table teams for the rest of his career.

Don't remember that.

And did I say that he moved well for the goal or that he moves well generally?

Everyone moves well now and again.

I do remember thinking that he looked an interesting player when I saw him play as a striker, but he's still just an interesting player who hasn't shown an awful lot (partly down to being played wide) at this point rather than much development being apparent as yet.

Not suggesting he's slow, but there isn't the turn of pace there to beat someone one on one, I don't think.

I remember one U21 goal he scored where he got into a foot race and blitzed the defender, but then it does depends on how fast the opposition player is :D He's not really going to dribble around players like a winger, his game is all about working the space for a shot.
