Yeah it's quite a sight, Red Rock Canyon is about a 15 minute drive from my apartment. A lot of people think Vegas is only the Strip, but there's a lot more to it.

Red Rock Canyon is amazing. Lucky you. I'm not a fan of the Strip. The Fremont area is pretty cool. There's a not so bad little indie music scene there.

I would like the Strip more if more places gave locals discounts or something, but very few do. Otherwise it's just a money pit and it isn't worth it to deal with all the drunk tourists. Fremont is nice and a little more old-school, a few nice bars and restaurants around there. But where I live is more suburbia-like, you wouldn't guess what's just a few miles down the road.

I've only been living here less than a year though.
