Maduro, la Juve insiste
27 01 2006

Do all talented Ajax players get linked to Juventus nowadays :groan:
We certainly do.

If we need this guy - and it sounds like we certainly are in need of urgent back up to Vieira and Emerson - I rather feel that this will be a time when Luciano Moggi will have to remember how to recover the club cheque book from the company safe, rather than relying on freebies.

Reference is being made to the deal hinging on Fiorentina taking Blasi. If this is the case, then Maduro may well slip through the net.

Meanwhile, the Gallas negotiations are all set to reach a conclusion, positive or otherwise, in the course of the next seven days, pending agreement on the compensation figure for Adrian Mutu.

There would still be a need to secure a long-term replacement for Pavel Nedved too during the next few months. Capello has so transformative rebuilding to do on a care and maintenance basis. The near future will be interesting to say the least.

get him. We are not covered in midfield. I would get him along with someone, who can play a deep playmaker part. we lack this type of player.

Juve chase Ajax starlet Friday 27 January, 2006

Juventus are hot on the heels of Ajax starlet Hedwiges Maduro, according to reports in Italy on Friday.

Maduro is the new rising star of Dutch football and has been described as a cross between Frank Rijkaard and Edgar Davids.

The 20-year-old has already become a mainstay of the Dutch side’s midfield and an integral part of the Holland national set-up with his ball-winning ability, natural positional sense and ability to create moves.

Juve’s general director Luciano Moggi, whose capture of Zlatan Ibrahimovic from Ajax has proven to be a huge success, has already been in talks with the Amsterdam club with a view to obtaining the impressive midfielder.

But with Maduro contracted until 2008, Moggi would have to break his habit of getting players on the cheap in order to secure his services, especially as the youngster is already attracting the interest of a whole host of European clubs.

i think we already have in Marchionni :) , and also Mutu can do the job sense we don't need a playmaker, we bout a winger.

i think the most imp thing in the summer is to buy a CB.

thats not a problem, we will buy Barzagli if we fail to buy Gallas
and we already have a good back up for this position,
the DM is more tricky,we are looking for someone able to fill Zanetti's shoes but more talented than Barone...

There are no more new footballers in this world, they are either the new this or the new that or lately a breed of this and that. FFS, can't the media come up with new stuff anymore?

As it stands, i dont think any problem is less important than another. Back up for cenral midfield and centre back are crucial.

Giannichedda and Blasi should both leave. Maduro is a very good young talent, he should definitely be looked at as replacement. Barone would also be good in addition to fixing that back up problem.

As for Barzagli, i think Gallas and him would be good additions. With thuram, cannavaro and Kovac all being well in their 30s now, we need to security for the future. Remember last time the club ignored the age of our defence...Montero, Iuliano...Ferrara as well...and getting Legro thinking he would help..it was a disaster.
