I've had a Mac for three years now. Macbook Pro. Only problems I've had were slow booting and a couple keys started to come off. For as much as I use it, this thing is fantastic and definitely worth it.

Other folks here have Macs and they are happy as well.

What makes you think you want a mac?

I am sick of Windows, and I don't like Windows 7.

I have pretty bad experience with Windows, and my friend is going on about how good mac is. He says it can not get virus? Anyways, he says its better watching movies on it and everything. I've always thought about getting mac, it looks sexy as hell. I think i am going for mac book pro.

I really don't like Macs and Apple. We only have IMacs at Uni which is pretty brainless because big part of the pro design programs don't run under apple. And I just can't get used to them. Like it's almost impossible to make a right click without concentrating on it with these damn mice they have.
Oh wait you asked the guys for their opinion, I'm out.

Why don't you give Linux a shot?

I'm responding, Martin. We already know you think Mac users are manipulated by marketeers.
Oh, that's not even an opinion, would anyone try to deny it? We are all under the influence of marketing to some degree, anyway.

It's more like.. if the TSA (your bad boy of the week) gave you a lollipop and a smile, would you notice they were groping you? Distraction. Marketing in order to sell a product and beat a competitor, that's standard. Marketing to stick you with something that you paid for yet you effectively rent under ever changing conditions, that's a whole other ball game.

They can get viruses but are much less likely, as most viruses are written for Windows and the writers either don't know how to use the Mac platform or can't be bothered to do it as well. However, if more people are buying Macs that'll change over time, and already malware has started to appear.

And here I was just about to write that I have my manhood handled by Steve Jobs like a TSA agent...

Yeah, as a consumer, unless you're hard-pressed on price alone, there's really every reason to go towards a Mac these days unless you're going Ubuntu or something.

Still, Apple is Evil, and some of their products are outright bloatware. Mark my words.

No, bloatware. As in Microsoft Word is a 2Gb install and has 2,412 features you'll never use. That kind of bloatware.

iTunes is a perfect example of modern bloatware. It's too big, it's too fat, it slows your system down, it installs daemons on your computer just to keep it watching for anything to make it jump back in your face, and it tries to do way too much while not doing one thing very well.

I say go for it. I've no idea if you know this, but you can actually install any version of windows along with the Apple OS. This way you won't need to ditch any of your old programs/games/docs..etc and at the same time you would enjoy all the Mac's pluses.
