You focus too much on the term rather than the meaning. Cron wants, what I want, what anyone with basic understanding of football and who follows Juve wants...namely, a striker whose capable, above all else, of scoring goals. no matter how he gets his goals, he gets his goals. Its great if you can have a rooney or benzema or ibra or mesi, but that doesnt detract from the fact that what our offence lacks is a player, whatever term of position you want to give him, whose main job and main talent is scoring goals. Forget about categories, just try to understand that when people say we need a CF a prima punta, its invariably an attempt to say 'we are crying the $#@! out, game after game, for a player whose prime job, prime talent is scoring goals'.
but it was cronios who started all that fancy dribblers juve seem to have a fetish to :p

he don't want jovetic because he's a dribbler he said, he wanted strict CF when it's become extinct today.

notice that cron don't want this muriel too because he's a dribbler, well I think at this point, a guy like muriel is an opportunity we must dare to risk, seeing as how all our forwards are incompetent; but we need to sell matri and quaq.

Muriel would be an exellent buy , the problem would be the fee , i don't see us signing him for anything less than 15-20 mil , which could escalate very quickly by the end of the season if he performs well , sanchez got sold for 30+ milions after 6 good months in udinese . He is fast , good physically , nice technique , good dribbler and a good finisher . A complete player . The comparision with ronaldo stands , problem is that he seems to have took even the bad habits from him . If i remember correctly at the begining of the season guidolin was angry at him and said that he won't play until he losses 5-6 kg , after it i remember reading that it might be a metabolism problem , or he could just have eaten a lot . We have to be a little cautious if we sign him

Seriosly , nowdays almost any forward knows to dribble if even a little . The days of old forwards who just stay in the box have not so good technique and their sole purpouse is to score is gone . The trezeguets , the inzaghis , the mullers are pretty rare today . The only one that comes at the top of my mind is gomez .

If you look at most big teams , their striker don't only know how to finish , they also have a lot of other aspects in their game .

Real has Benzema , higuain .
ManU has Rooney , Van persie
Man Shitty has Balotelli , Dzeko , Tevez , Aguero
Barca has Villa (also messi if you want to consider him a striker)
Psg has Ibra
It doesn't mean that because he knows how to dribble it means he can't finish , just like muriel he is a good dribbler , but he also is a good finisher

I don't think Udinese will sell him in the summer, they will keep him for another season and wait until his value hits the sky and then sell him for max. profit.

Between him and Belfodil, i'll definetely chose the latter as he seems more ready for a big club. And his skillset is amazing. But what's the point tough of buying so many of these youngsters if they won't have a chance with the A team.

do you realize that no big team play with true CF anymore? even guys like ibra, cavani and falcao are quite far from the type of inzaghi and trezeguet; ibra, cavani and falcao are more fitting in the SS category.

then you have gomez, van persie, rooney, benzema, higuain, suarez etc, non of them are true CF like in the days of old.

and finally messi and cr7, obviously they aren't CF, they never were.

why insist on CF when there aren't any and the supposed top of the category is below par these so called not true CF?
This is because of Barca and the Spain NT, but because they can afford to play like that, t doesnt means that anyone cans.
We have managed to emulate in a great degree that kind of football and i dont hate it.
BUT, we dont have the same quality, it could be enough vs the weak Italian teams, bit not the strongest ones and not in Europe!
In such derbies the weakness of our current offensive options cost us dearly and this must stop.

Since players like Drogba and Zlatan who can score and create are very rare and expensive
and since we have the creativity very well covered with a great variety of options, we should now focus on the finishing characteristics.

And if we cant sign a DP, Drogba, Zlatan, Benzema, Messi and have to settle with a compromise, the compromise who can do less overall , but smth good enough and that smth should be the finishing, because this is what we lack the most.
The last forwards we got, Iaquinta, Amauri, Matri, Quaq, Vucinic, Giovinco were all great overall, but none of them was a consistent finisher (only Quaq but he is not consistent)
they could score, but not consistent enough. This is why i criticised their acquisition and this is why i criticise this one as well.
Good player, but not whatwe need atm.

After securing the Llorente, then by all means grob the Sanchez, Jovetic and Muriels of the world.
But as it stands, we need to invest more on a finisher, imo a Cavani-Giovinco/Vucinic partnership would be far more productive than a Muriel-Llorente/Pazzini one.
Because i believe that the optimal way to improve is by upgrading your weakest link, before you fine tune what is already working in a satisfacatory way.

Exactly, i wouldnt mind a DP who can score as easy as he can create, pass, dribble, but the prime characteristic of the next forward acquisition should be is ability to score with consistency!

I mentioned him last summer. The guy is gonna be great and we better put our hands on him sooner than later. I don't know how we'd use him tbh, he plays behind Di Natale in 3-5-2 as ss, so in Vucinic's/Gio's role. In 4-3-3 I find it hard to place him anywhere but still I hope we get him. I guess we'd use him as our striker.

If we can't afford him now we better co-own an option to co-own his half or whatever. Marotta, if you read this: this guy is another Cavani or SES in the making, don't fuck it up. He's ready for a big club, he could play with us in CL and we have great relations with Udinese.
