I'm still not convinced Del Neri is that bad. More of a lacky of quality and a lack of quantity of quality in the side than anything else.
I have two main issues with Delneri:
1. He plays a ridiculously narrow defence, which put more responsibilty on the fullbacks and wingers to defend, rather than the CBs. I like a narrow defence, but it's not appropriate for this Juve and Delneri takes it too far; and
2. The intention to have almost no possession when defending a lead. I prefer sitting back and holding shape, rather than commiting men forward, but, again, Delneri goes to far in sitting back and inviting the other team to come forward and put pressure on Juve fragile defence.
These tactics were both basically fine at Samp as they suited the players they had, they are not appropriate for this Juve, though.
