Del Neri hands it to Roma
Gigi Del Neri has admitted that Roma deserved to beat his Juventus side in the Coppa Italia last night.

Despite having the home advantage, the Old Lady struggled to break down a capital outfit who qualified for the semi-finals with a 2-0 victory in Turin.

“It was complicated,” the Juve boss noted. “We found a Roma side who were very motivated, very alert, who played an excellent game.

“We had difficulties, also in terms of fitness, with regard to injuries rather than our work rate. The players who came off did so because of injuries and not for tactical reasons.

“Martinez had some issues but I could not replace him because Simone Pepe had his own problems. Amauri had to come off and I had to play Iaquinta whose not featured in a while.

“We couldn’t do any more as a side given the situation we are in.”

Juventus rarely threatened in attack but did worry Roma when Alessandro Del Piero and Philippe Mexes clashed in the box, but no penalty was given.

“At times penalties, or certain incidents, change the psychological effect on a game. It happened at Napoli with Toni’s disallowed goal and today we were not awarded a penalty,” Del Neri added.

“We produced what we could, we sent players on to the pitch who hadn’t played for a while.

“We need to play better and I think we’ll be able to do that. You shouldn’t forget what we had achieved up until December.

“It’s clear that we must now use all our energy in a very complicated championship.”

Juve face Udinese on Sunday but Marco Motta, Pepe and Amauri are all doubts after picking up injuries last night.

This has nothing to do about the fans. It has everything to do with the quality of managers and other personnel we hire, which you absolutely never admit.
BS, everyone knows he is not a top quality coach and that we are restricted to who we can buy but that doesn't mean that in better circumstances we couldn't reach this season's goal.

starters next season:
Buffon
Chiellini
Bonucci
Marchisio
Aquilani
Melo
Krasic.

Buffon
RB-Bonucci-Chiellini-LB
----Melo-Marchisio
--------Aquilani
Krasic-------------LW
-------striker---------

So we would need, as starters, two full backs, a LW (Elia would be sweat) and a striker (Lukaku can play this role, he does it also at RSCA).
As backups, we can keep De Ceglie, Grygera, Barzagli, Sissoko (if he wants), Iaquinta, Toni, DP, Manninger.
Get rid off:
Amauri, Legro, Rinaudo, Motta, Storari (he won't be interested in staying), Pepe, Martinez.
And finally, use some younger players as backups.
i totally agree with this and but grygera has to go too. i really felt bad after last night game

secco, marrotta, blanc and all the others who were in charge with the club after calciopoli have ruined the club. i really missed the days when we were playing in de cl semi's and so on. Now i have to watched to players who don't want to play in the shirt (Janet) i can even say his name. all this what is happing at the moment by juve is really hurting at the moment.

So, did he really not say anything after the match?
«We played less well than Roma, we were below par. We didn’t score, it’s difficult to do so if we don’t create enough opportunities. Unfortunately, we didn’t have luck on our side, also tonight I was forced into making three substitutions and I couldn’t bring on Aquilani in the last 20 minutes. Mexes foul on Del Piero? For me the penalty should have been given, at 1-1 it would be a different game and the equaliser would have reignited us. I’m sorry above all for the supporters who gave us their all until the end. This is a particular moment, we have to do our best, get the injured players back on the pitch and concentrate on the championship, starting on Sunday with our game against Udinese».

Is really Del Neri the one to blame?

He's not the first who has failed miserably since the case "Calciopoli".
To be honest, maybe none of our last coaches was good enough to get us back on our feet,
but i feel that the true problem is somewhere else and sacking Del Neri is not the thing we need now.

That is totally true and the problem is not in Marotta either nor was it in Secco.

"The problem is somewhere else?"
No, we need a director with some sense. Secco sucked balls and I think Marotta does too. Accept it or not Moggi had a great influence in our achievements

Ranieri : Juve played a defensive game.....
Since when was Juve a defensive team? I'm going to need for Del Neri to go out with an attacking mind set. Either we lost 2-0 or get raped 4-0 either way a lose is a lose.
