Like what? When achieving 4th position is your biggest achievement in 25 years, isnt that enough to tell you what kind of choice this man is going to be? Seriously, get over yourself.
It's not about egos necessarily. Del Piero, Buffon, Chiellini are probably not the type of egos any manager would have a problem with, at least by the looks of it. It's the passion, drive and determination these guys have to put the club back where it belongs that's going to have to be understood. What? Would you call Buffon's outburst over the last weekend? A tantrum? No, it's his frustration to see the club in such disarray. He wants to win and be part of a winning squad. The kind of players who have that mentality need someone they can look up to.
I've actually explained this elsewhere. But to cut a long story short. Success breeds success. If you see the clubs he's been at over the last 25 years, they've had very different ambitions from those that prevail at a club like Juventus. He has worked his way up with clubs that often have one primary objective: survive relegation. What kind of thinking do you believe that ingrains in him? Certainly, not the kind we need right now. I'm sorry, the time for giving anyone a fair chance to discover their title credentials has gone. We're 4 years into a 5 year project, that seems nowhere near complete. It reeks of being a failure, and a time like that this club needs nothing less than a proven winner. Somebody who has tasted success on every level because only that someone will know what this team needs to be back where it belongs. The time for experimentation is over. How do you know we have a board that communicates for sure now? Because of Agnelli's surname? It means nothing. There's a lot of work to be done, and a lot of things left to prove which Andrea and Beppe may or may not have the capability to do. I dont think you understand what a mess this team is in. And if for the sake of argument, even if this is a clear improvement over the last 4 years, do you have any idea what kind of work needs to be done to get us out of it? We're on the cusp of becoming a club and team that lack continuity, with an entirely new core, a team that in many departments needs to be built from scratch. The kind of players we buy now and the coach we appoint are going to determine what we're setting ourselves up for. We may have Marotta but we dont have Moratti. That means our finances will eventually run out. Youre not going to have an 80 m cash injection every summer to build a winning team.
I dont know how you've established that Secco has always bought players the coaches did not want? When everyone linked us to Xabi Alonso and we ended up with Poulsen do you not remember Ranieri publicly coming out in support of the purchase, saying that's what he wanted? If that was indeed the case, it came down to the mediocre coach who had lesser players in mind so he could impose his ideas on them. And if it wasnt the case, and Secco indeed bought someone Ranieri didnt want, then it just showed a weak coach who didnt have the personality to stand up for his ideas and what he believed in to buy peace with the board? Either way, you can see, coaches like that are a bad decision. And a disaster waiting to happen one way or another.
There's a lot we may not know at this point in time, and the variables are many. But based on the last 4 years, we've given every type of coach a chance. Ranieri, Zaccheroni and Ferrara. Every type except a proven winner. I'm sure you'll agree Del Neri is a lot like the first two. We all thought we should give them a chance and support them and see what they can do. Let's wake up to the fact that there's a better chance that these coaches can't be expected to do more than they have done in the past. Especially when they have 25 years of experience to prove it.

I got to see that with Marotta, Del Neri and several head scout Marotta bring with him, we will use young player more, Italian one.. I see Samp primavera looking great this year (top of the primavera league), and Marotta has long record buying young Italian players.. It can be refreshing, but can also be depressing if it means this lack of transfer budget or we won't look for talent outside Italy
