What would you guys say if LDN got Cassano to Juve?
Why would we need Del Neri to get Cassano? Why do you think they have some kind of overly positive relationship? They have had a barely working one, first from Roma, but when Del Neri came to Samp, first it was Cassano was injured story being dragged out. But then when he was healthy, he was very assuredly benched for Pozzi, because he didnt fit in how he liked to set up. And only eventually got to play again very slowly. And IMO a bit of it was due to Pozzi getting injured.

Football Italia said:
Gentile: Del Neri was first choice
Monday 17 May, 2010
Juventus legend Claudio Gentile has revealed that Gigi Del Neri was always the Bianconeri's choice to become their new Coach.

The man who led Sampdoria to fourth spot and a place in the Champions League is set to take over in Turin after a disappointing campaign which saw Juve finish seventh.

“I never listen to papers because most of the times they get it wrong,” claimed Gentile.

“Everybody knew Beppe Marotta and Gigi Del Neri would have joined Juventus, all the rest is just paper talk.

“I think they both deserve faith because they have done really well at Sampdoria. It looks like it could be the right choice.

“Cesare Prandelli was always tied to Fiorentina. I believe Del Neri will do well for the club.

“The fans can be happy about this because Del Neri is a good manager. I think the board did not hesitate to sign him.

“We will see what they will do in the transfer market but it also depends on the budget. Marotta is experienced and he will know what to do.”

No worries, we are all allowed one brain fart a day, Suns just used up his :p

I would get if he was against 4-4-2 for Diego, but for wingers, bit off.

I'm not overly fussed on LDN, but once it becomes official we'll have to put our faith in him. I reckon him and Marrotta is better than just either LDN or Marrotta coming to us by themselves. Them 2 seem to have a good relationship, but like other people have said ill wait until the mercato is finished. If they get rid of Zebina this summer tho they will go down as demi-gods in my book :D

Formations can change during the match:

5-3-2 to 3-5-2
4-4-2 to 4-5-1 (4-2-3-1)
4-3-3 to 4-5-1 (4-2-3-1)
3-4-3 to 3-6-1

I don't think it's about the formation but more about the capability of a coach to field the right players to make his tactics work. At the end, most formations can be a success or a failure.

Personally, I have nothing against any formation as long as it's used considering the players' abilities (Lippi talk). :D

Del Neri just reminds me of his negative tactics when Samp was playing against Inter with a man up. Didnt want to attack and take risk and ultra defensive.

This post is flawed because its based on weird assumptions. Why would a rated coach be an individualistic one who creates trouble with the management and players? And why would it mean a lesser gamble coach will do well with the collective that is the management and players?
It is not based on those definite assumptions. It is just presenting possible scenarios. Obviously a gamble coach could have problems with management and vice versa. I was merely pointing out that the name of the coach is not the be all end all of an appointment, and there are other things to consider.
