if the modafucka would be a little more open to other formations instead of 4-4-2 i would have no problems keeping him instead of hiring mazzari or deschamps. yesterday we played good football like against cagliari where we also played with marchisio in the middle of the park. to play marchisio at left wing doesnt make sense for me.

It's hard to know what sort of pure management Ciro actually did for the team. Just because the players were talking amongst themselves doesn't prove much in my view, but I wasn't there to hear. Just like DN yelling Milos constantly doesn't necessarily mean he's making beneficial changes during the match.

I'd rather take a chance on an inexperienced manager than DN. As I said, with the latter we lock in another season of mediocrity. At least with the other guy there's a chance we do better.
But we already took that chance and look what happened. Its too difficult to say whether one is better then the other given that Ferrara coached for a limited amount of time but a safer assumption would be Delneri considering the difference in experience. I honestly think had Ciro continued to manage us we would be much worse off then 7th place with seven games left in that season.

theres no point replacing him unless we get a world class coach, not one of those useless Italian's the media wont shut up about

More importantly the management and scouting areas have to be fixed once and for all

Does anyone think he can do any better with 2-3 'champions' and ditching his stricter 4-4-2/4-3-1-2 hybrid formation, or is he the wrong guy to trust those players with? I don't see any issues between the players and coach on a relationship level, seems to be tactical restrictions that have dictated both the mercato and actual performances.

Well whether he does better or not, a big mercato would raise the targets, it wouldn't be good enough to scrap for 4th at best.

I'm not going to jump the gun either way, it's been a very disappointing and frustrating season, even a late super charge would not redeem it.

I think he's either slow or overly cautious in making his decisions.
This change of Krasic's role or the 'plan B' we played yesterday, should have been done much earlier before we got outplayed by the likes of Lecce and co.

I still don't like his general attitude of let the other team have the ball, or defending a loss we've seen many times during the season.

We might still get a better result next season with him in charge, but he won't stablish any sort of strong/winning mentality into these players.

after all these past few years, I honestly don't believe the level of the coach (mediocre coaches) is the only problem... I mean, look how coaches like mancini won the league, allegri and leonardo competes for scudetto, how can anyone seriously believe del neri or even ranieri are worse than these former 3?

Of course the coach isn't the only problem. We haven't got good enough players to win the scudetto.

I believe something needs to be done about the injury problems. Vinovo is killing them off?
Could be. but im interested to see the ages of the players that are injured year in year out for us too. DP always near enough seems to be fine, but hes hard as nails. unlike the other pussies who are more interested in trying to keep the mud away from their pretty hairstyles (Iaquinta, Amauri,Camo)

I think we have problems with motivation, how come we win against Roma, Milan and Inter but we lose all these points against crap teams?
that is one of the coaches main tasks
a game against Parma for example looks to be harder for us then beating Roma

Motivation could be one reason, also because the smaller teams play counter attack more and that is where we are most vulnerable. We're better being the 'small team' with the setup we have and doing just that.
