You do know why we were among top 3 clubs financially? The triade (Moggi, Bettega and Giraudo) for 11 years in a row managed to record profit and that was mostly achieved through their smart investments regarding players transfers. We were perfectly operated back then, self sustaining, in other words Juventus didn't need Agnelli's financial aid to be kept afloat. Major European clubs like Bayern considered Juventus as their role model, something their sports director at that time repeated on more than a few occasions.

About Calciopolli part, Juventus were absolved of any guilt in front of the civil court, otherwise clubs could have sued them for damages and that is something they tried. Moggi's part based on all documents emerged later on, as some were hidden, showed corrupt system at that time, but system which if anything seemed to be anti Juve. Not a single game was altered but Juventus were somehow relegated. Evidently after Gianni and Umberto's death their enemies became stronger, while more pressing concerns like Fiat's debt troubled young successors, quite logically as Fiat's worth is more than 10x Juventus'.

Moggi's Juve got destroyed because it was way too strong and the other families didnt like it. Juve were never guilty of anything more than article one violations. Hardly anything.

Moggi had appealed against the original conviction of five years and four months, which was reduced considerably this evening by the Naples Tribunal looking at the 2004-05 season.
Ex-referee Massimo De Santis was given a one-year sentence and former refereeing designator Pierluigi Pairetto two years.
Moggi was found guilty of conspiring to commit a crime, as the earlier charge of sporting fraud passed the statute of limitations.
Other sentences include two years for ex-FIGC Vice-President Innocenzo Mazzini, 10 months for referees Antonio Dattilo and Paolo Bertini, all for sporting fraud.
Paolo Bergamo’s appeal has to be repeated due to a technicality, while Lazio President Claudio Lotito and Fiorentina patron Andrea Della Valle passed the statute of limitations.
Moggi was not present in the court when the verdict was read after nine hours of consultations between magistrates. His lawyers already announced an appeal to the third tier of the Italian justice system, the Cassazione, with “new evidence.”
It is extremely unlikely Moggi – who is now a media pundit – will actually spend any time in prison.
Moggi’s lawyers had argued he only had access to Swiss telephone SIM cards to avoid Inter spying on his calls when discussing transfers.

These guys were living legends back then. Like DP84 said, we were perfectly operated for more then a decade.

Edit: I just remembered how these guys handled important matches in Europe. They used to bring Juve legends to the training ground a day or two before the match. It was always a special occasion and perfectly embodied the "Juve spirit". These encounters were meant to motivate the team, especially the newcomers who had zero experience in CL. The fact is Moggi, Bettega and Giraudo were gentlemen and amazing at their work. Marotta, Paratici, Nedved and Agnelli can still learn a lot from these guys.
