Lucho an alternative to makelele, just doesnt make sense. So what exactly are we looking for? an attacking mid or defensive mid, or heck it sounds like we might as well find ourselves a goalkeeper as well whilst at it.

He has played in DM for river plate in the past, his more of an CM/attacking mid and thats where he has really made a name for himself. The DM in porto who catches my eyes is Raul Meireles a tough tackler and a guy who can pass. Anyway I have my doubts whether we will get him, everton seem to have a better chance than us. :disagree:

I think Lucho is a better tackler than both Almiron and Tiago, but I don't see a point in buying the guy when we already have a similar player in the former Benfica player. If we did buy Lucho we would play like this I suppose:

Tiago - Lucho - Almiron

Offensively it's pretty damn good in my opinion but there's a redundancy facter here.

I can't judge him, that's why I ask. In fact I think with our limited ressources we should buy a CB, not a midfielder. We already have 5 CMs. But IF we buy one, get someone who adds signficantly to our defending.

Just buy someone that helps our defence either he is DMF or CB.So Emerson or Canna.Better sign both.
Just remember Juve have never signed a player who left.

It seems very unlikely that we will change that with players that left last summer.

Lucho Gonzalez

A bit too expensive I think. Doesn't look good for us. Too bad :(.

but are we still looking for a midfielder?

i think Lucho would be a great addition to the squad.
use Chiellini as a CB i think he does good at that role.

we need zanetti more than lucho. like i said lucho was the alternative to tiago so theres no point of even talking about him joining us now
