Are Indians and Pakistani's treated like 2nd class citizens over there? Is it true that all the labor jobs are filled by them?
Most are treated like shit, as there is a lot of hidden racism here...white people, more qualified or not, are put on a pedestal above all other kinds of people...and yea most of the menial and labour jobs are done by South Asians...but a lot of them are bankers, doctors, pharmacists and all those kinda jobs too

And is it true that all citizens are provided with free housing and 'monthly allowances'?
they get allowances for everything...Health Education even Marriage...until not so long ago, the guy could get his marriage financed by the "Marriage Fund", and would get twice the amount if the woman he was marrying was over 30 :D

White people? You mean Arabs?

Wow...so the citizens really don't have to do anything. They've got S. Asians doing their dirty work and they've got foreign army's protecting their country.

So how does a S. Asian go about getting citizenship and getting the same benefits that they enjoy?

White = Anglo-Saxon...most Arabs are sycophants and ass-kiss their way into the good books of the nationals, therefore land the better job, as knowing Arabic is their obvious advantage

S. Asian or anyone else cannot get citizenship unless they are tight with the Sheikh or something like that...there was supposed to be legislation where they would give citizenship to ppl who were born here/lived here here for more than 30 years, but haven't seen any progess on that....and even if you do get citizenship, you sure as hell won't get the same benefits as the "real" nationals

I have zero respect to countries like those.

I heard Dubai smells like indian food and you aren't allowed to take pictures. What's up with that? I thought it was liberal.
I haven't smelled food let alone Indian food yet. I think its pretty liberal so far at least at the resort I'm in. I took a million and one pictures so far and a lot of them at the beach. I'm not really aware of the rule. Oh and its pretty liberal.

I am serious girl, never heard what happened to that English girl that was having sex on the beach?

Can we rename this thread to " the official hate UAE thread"?
Yeah I heard about that but I'm sure I would not be having sex on the beach in this weather. We enjoy the indoors especially with air conditioning.

Oh and don't forget the Chinese or Phillipino's. I could do without the way they treat them. My boyf and I were entering an elevator with some Emirate business guy in it, this indian guy who was some type of worker was about to get in. The yelled at him to not enter the elevator with us in sucha rude manner.

No pictures on the beach? :lol2: Is there anything you can do on the beach besides just stand there?
I think certain beaches you can't which I can understand kinda since the ladies are covered and modesty is considered pretty important in their culture. Although I took pictures at the beach but I'm at a resort so it might be different at the public ones.

I have to say though for a culture that holds modesty so highly I have received waaay too many inappropriate comments in my ears from random guys as well as cars honking while yelling out inappropriate comments a lot in Arabic which I understand even waiters feel the need to say stuff to me on my way out. You would think I was dressed like a hooker when all I wear is slightly above my knee length dresses and skirts and pretty high cut tops. That is the one thing I could do without here.

Did you hear something like 'Bibi boobay kameez ke andar rakh' from a Pakistani/Indian?
I have no idea. To put it simply, I don't understand Pakistani/Indian so anything that is said sounds the same to me. I ignore everyone pretty well now. I'm used to it in some foreign countries and even Italy in some areas. I just though Dubai would be kinda different.

You should slum it up and go find the part of town that smells like Indian food and has the no photography signs posted. It could be fun.

and you get angry when I sarcastically say UAE Rocks :irritated
all in the appropriate framework, sarcasm and criticism is fine but saying "UAE rocks" right after it was announced that someone got brutally murdered is simply inhuman. It stops for that moment from being about nationalities and more an innate relating to the ply of another fellow human. And UAE is UAE they will do whatever they want to do coz they simply got everyone by the balls.

You should go to Karama then, they'll like you there, but they'll like your boyfriend even more
