Kenedy would have been nice but would have been more of an investment signing than one who would immediately slot into the first team. It could be argued that shaqiri was a missed opportunity, Correa I feel was too whilst if it is true about neto that deal makes little sense considering his rumored wage and the future of storari yet to be resolved. If you say another central defender was not needed then fine but Doria would have been a nice addition imo
You don't buy investments for the future in January, though.

That rarely ever happens.

Yea I don't see where the problem is. We are getting Matri for 6 months, we are paying ONLY HALF HIS WAGES AND HE IS COMING FOR FREEEEEEEEEEE, on top of that we brought back de ceglie cause we need a back up lb, given we only have evra, and we brought Sturaro in who is our own player. In my eyes they were all good moves. We spent nothing besides the 2m extra for sturaro.

Well, it could be worse.

We could be Roma and replace Destro and Iturbe with Ibarbo and Doubia.

People want to talk about lateral movements, that right there is the epitome of it.

If replacing Matri with Giovinco is a lateral move, then so be it. a 5th striker for a 5th striker who will cost nothing but salary for the next 4 months. Big deal.
:agree: bro.

Summer is what's important, in January you either ruin next Summers budget by over paying for cup tied players or you conclude some cheap business. So I'm not that bothered.

we brought back de ceglie not because he is the answer to our lack in depth at LB but more because we have to fulfill the homegrown quota with giovinco gone

I said before the Udinese game to keep an eye out for any unknown player who plays well against us, because we'd inevitably be linked with/legit want to buy them

So we'll see Allan in 6 months time. :tuttosport:
