No but loaning with an obligation to buy a 30 year old who could quite easily fail to perform is not good business, where as loaning a player is less risky
Sure, but if the manager and director see a future for the player at the club then it isn't that big of a deal.

Would you rather spend a million dollars a month on Drogba?

That is what concerns me the most, we end up paying 9 mill for a dead horse who we can't sell like tiago, thing i liked more about the Drogba deal is that it was a good short term fix, yeah the wages are 4+ mill but at least there was no obligation to keep him long term, but this is an actual investment to sign a player on a permanent deal.

Lets just say LL has a rubbish remainder to his season at Juve, we still have to pay the 9 mill and we're stuck with him. Then what?
Well, that's a risk we'll have to take if we want him. To be honest i don't like any of the deals. Drogba could be us throwing money out the window just as much as Lopez. Think about it, In the long run, a Lopez loan deal with a chance of buying him at the end of the season could prove to be less dangerous. He sucks? we send him back. No big deal. (Unless there's an obligation to the loan deal?)

consistent, for something to be consistent it needs to contain two or more of something (in this case season statistics).

He has played as a LW most of the season. I don't see your point.
We can't go based on what people did years ago. At least not when it comes to our needs, we all know what we need and that is a goal scorer, somebody who can make good out of the millions chances we create and that's not 2012-13 Lopez. But let him come, he can prove to be useful. :hustini:

Neither can we judge strikers on their ability to play left wingers in a 4-2-3-1 system. (and still bag 8 goals)
