I’m On My Way Back – Lippi

Italian World Cup-winning coach Marcello Lippi is planning his return for the upcoming season, and he is confident that he will be sitting on an important bench this summer.

Lippi was present at the Alpine Skiing World Cup of Sestriere, where he spoke about what the future has in store for him.

“I’m returning soon to the bench because I have the desire to start again to build a common project with a group of players,” admitted the former Juventus coach.

“I want to feel certain extraordinary emotions again.”

The 'Italian Paul Newman' has not chosen his destination yet, but he is open to the idea of coaching abroad if the opportunity arrives.

“I did not chose a list of teams, it’s not so automatic, but I will accept if I’m offered an interesting program, in Italy or abroad," he said.

Lippi believes that Italy are the favourites for Euro 2008.

“We start off in the first row, not because we are world champions, but because of the morale value of the group.

“The success of the national team, clubs, coaches, players abroad, and the quality of Serie B all prove that Italian football is the best,” concluded Lippi.

Well Lippi coached Napoli and i belive that the Napoli president really want to get Napoli in top 3 and in the ECC. And Reja is not doing well. So i see Lippi doing a great job there. Don't get me wrong but i also would like to see the return of lippi to Juve but i think our managment will stick to Ranieri for next season also. So i don't see Lippi coming back yet.

On the other hand, I think Milan will confirm Ancelotti. They never had any doubts about him.

Inter wown't get rid of Mancini since he got them the scudetto. LOL (he will have to lose this one for them to sack him and i think the scudetto race is still ON) and i don't see lippi returning to Inter.

I don't see Lippi going to Roma.

So who else? Napoli would do it or a team abroad!

Milan line up Lippi option

There are reports that if Carlo Ancelotti doesn’t take Milan to the Champions League semi-finals, World Cup winner Marcello Lippi is ready to take over.

The Coach has been one of the most successful in this club’s history, particularly in Europe, where in 2007 alone he won the Champions League, European Super Cup and Club World Cup.

According to the 'Gazzetta dello Sport’ that is still not enough to guarantee Ancelotti’s place on the bench for next season, as they have struggled to finish in the top four of Serie A.

Last season there were similar problems and the Rossoneri tactician saved his job by lifting the trophy in Athens in May.

At the time the same rumours were that Lippi was being lined up to take over, as he reportedly had negotiations with the club hierarchy.

Lippi has been on a sabbatical since winning the 2006 World Cup trophy with Italy and is said to have turned down offers for international positions with England and the Republic of Ireland.

Ancelotti’s contract with Milan expires in 2010, but despite his years of success and silverware at San Siro, he is always under pressure to deliver.

Ah, Gazzetta, Berlusconi's little puppy.
If Gazzetta was right whenever they write about Milan then their team would have looked like this now :

1. Buffon (sure deal according to Gazzetta. Only one day before he extended his contract with us Gazzetta claimed he's Milan's next keeper)
2. Dany Alves
3. Zambrotta
4. Nesta
5. Sergio Ramos
6. Gattuso / Essien
7. Pirlo
8. Kaka
9. Drogba
10. Ronaldinho
11. Fernando Torres

Coach: Lippi

Rijkaard is going to be the next Milan manager. I am pretty sure of this.

And he will probably bring Ronaldinho with him.

yes Rijkaard to milan seems to be more obvious option than Lippi or Mourinho, so we can be linked with one of the 2.

I would like to see Mourinho more than Lippi because he can bring something new to the clup, while the choice of Lippi is like making steps behind and from the other hand i believe that Lippi is not going to coach any italian club.

this thread seems to get more and more redundant everyday.

lets say lippi does comes back to coach us next year. if that does happen is it fair for me to expect a "Lippi Leaves" thread to follow?
