Lippi To Replace Ancelotti At Milan – Report

Marcello Lippi could be set to take over from Carlo Ancelotti as Coach of Milan at the end of the season, according to the Corriere dello Sport.

The Viareggio-born tactician has been out of the game since stepping down as coach of the Azzurri following the World Cup success in Germany in the summer of 2006.

Lippi has turned down a number of top jobs during that time including Tottenham Hotspur, Valencia and even Juventus.

Reports in the Italian media yesterday suggested that the 59-year-old may in fact return to the Bianconeri to work as a technical director in charge of transfers and various other affairs.

However the 'Corriere’ is today claiming that Lippi, who has confirmed he will be returning tow work next season, will actually be sitting on the bench of Milan.

Current Rossoneri boss Carlo Ancelotti has won every major trophy there is to win in the game, boasting one of the best Champions League records in modern history since taking over in 2001.

Carletto is now seeking a new challenge and it is highly likely that this will be his last season at the club.

Lippi fits the bill as his replacement as he is one of the most successful coaches of the modern era, having won five Italian championships during two spells at Juventus.

With the Bianconeri he also won a Champions League title, an Intercontinental Cup, a Coppa Italia, and a European Supercup.
He also finished as a runner-up in the Champions League on three occasions in 1997, 1998 and 2003, as well as losing a Uefa Cup final in 1995.

Guys, why don't you first read the article and look at the source before you switch to panic mode ?

If you read the article you'll notice that the source is Corriere dello sport.
Do you know how Corriere works ?
They see Juve has bad defense and a bad left back. Juve plays Catania and Vargas has a good match. Vargas is a left back.
Now guys from Corriere do this : "Juve can't go on with Molinaro and they need a new left back. One of the options COULD be Vargas who won't stay in Catania for a long time"
And they start from here and work on this theory. No quotes from someone in Catania or Juventus, no nothing. They simply invent their stories.

Now read the article again and you'll see that they did exactly the same thing. They only assume this will be Ancelotti's last season and they only assume Lippi could replace him.
And why do they think Lippi will replace him ?
Because "he is one of the most successful coaches of the modern era, having won five Italian championships during two spells at Juventus. "

Read the whole article, not only the title.

Here`s what Ancelotti said to press

"New stories say Lippi will take over? A mutual parting of ways between Milan and I? I have not interpreted anything of that kind,"

"To go to Barcelona? Why not, but in Europe Barcelona are not the only ones...

Funny, I was just on goal.com and I saw this. I opened it and I literally glanced the article from top to bottom in search for just one quote and saw none. So I just closed it.

Id be pretty happy if Ancelotti was given another chance at Juventus. The man is a winner. Not to say that Lippi isnt, but i think Carlo might actaully want to prove a thing or two if he's given charge of Juventus again.Lippi on the other hand has won everything here.He doesnt have anything left to prove anymore.

Juventus needs a coach who has hunger, and who wants to prove the critics wrong. For the sake of his own resume, and for the sake of the team he coaches. With Ancelotti you'd get that.

I hope this is true, I read it today in Serbian newspapers also and when I logged here to check this I saw this. Lippi will be great addition in our staff, but it's still speculation...

Lippi or Mourinho will be fine...

Ranieri is doing a good job, but juve need greatness, and not bringing in creativity in midfielg during the winter break when it was dead obvious means we might not secure a CL spot...
