It is a very honourable thing for Lippi to do, which of course is no surprise.

If Deschamps gets us promoted in a convincing manner ie playing well for the remainder and getting promotion and winning the league with games to spare, I think he deserves a shot at serie A with a proper squad to see if he can do it against the 'big boys'
Yes, He does. After all, he came to coach Juve in our darkest hour, whilst that ratbag capello deserted us.
Thats a very smart step from Lippi. I'm sure now Didier can focus and work harder.
:agree: DD has been criticised rather heavily recently, so this will encourage him.

There are reports from tuttoweb that Capello just resigned (and 48 hours away from their CL game against Bayern too). Sounds like his replacement will be José Miguel González Martín.

Any takers? :pumpkin:

EDIT: Ut... Now Real is denying those reports. lol

It sure sounds like they are going with DD at the start of the season. If he doesn't get results, though, I could see him getting the axe relatively quickly.

For all the people inhaling big time over Lippi's past :smoke: ... Lippi reamed us for his last season with us. I never want to see that again. We were such underachievers that even our fans applauded as we lost to the likes of Deportivo in the CL because they knew it was an end of an era for us. Our defense was putrid -- Juve was giving away a team-record number of goals more than halfway through the 2003-4 season. We were getting our asses kicked 4-0 by the likes of Roma (a Capello-lead Roma at that), with Totti waving his fingers in our faces. Yeah. Juve pride alright.

Thank you "Mr. Invincible" Marcello Lippi for allowing us to suffer that complacent humiliation that year. I love you as a person, I love what you've done in our past, but your our future has no place for you on our bench.

In contrast, DD doesn't have the defenders he wanted -- who all practically fled before the season started. And yeah, sure he got us Boumsong (!), but I didn't see a lot of other defensive support options coming our way either. And yet here we still lead the league, and despite all the defensive injuries we are tied for the least goals allowed in B and hold the most goals for.

Do you really want to bring back the nightmare of Lippi's last season with us? No thanks... :disagree:

You don't know that.

You are being too critical.

Give the man a chance.
I've already seen enough to realize that he isnt the right guy for the job

from his love of French players (thats ALL he wants to bring in, it seems), to his lack of decent team management (substitutions), I've had enough already !!

Goal.com Exclusive:
Never Spoke With Didier About Juve Post-Lippi
Goal.com Italy chief-editor Sergio Stanco caught up with Marcello Lippi to discuss the rumours involving his possible return to Juve.
Reports on several Italian newspapers indicated the coach of the Italian 2006 World Cup winning side called up Juventus coach Didier Deschamps to let him know he had no intention of taking his job away.
However, Lippi exclusively told Goal.com this news is totally untrue.
“A lot of things I’m reading lately are totally invented. I called Deschamps to reassure him? Are we joking? How could something like this even be said,” Lippi revealed to us.
“I don’t even want to touch upon this stuff again, especially because it could be used against a person that I respect and admire,” he added.
“Once again I repeat there is nothing true on what is being said about me of late,” he concluded.
Lippi has been linked to various benches around the planet since helping the Azzurri raise the golden trophy this summer.
In the last month a shock-return of Lippi to Juventus, with whom he won several Scudetti and a Champions League, has frequently made headlines in the Italian press.
Lippi has continually stated that he will take a decision regarding his future this summer.

If Lippi did call Deschamps, am I the only one who finds it a bit undermining?
As if Deschamps may only be juve's coach if Lippi allows it, if Lippi wants it; He'd be the coach and not Deschamps..

Well Lippi just denied what the Italian newspapers said about him calling DD, which means he isn't interfering in DD's work !:smoke:

Which is why I think that bit of news was pure TribalFootball-style fabrication.

you can make thousands of meaning out of it if you want, but I don't think Lippi is doing that, he is showing his support to Didier, and assuring him that there were no discussions were between him and the club, and is not thinking of returning, in other words, it's all media fabrications (like usual)..

What I don't get it is that most of the sites say that Lippi made a personal call to DD. If it was personal how the hell do they know.

Telecom Italia ghosts are coming back. :scared:
