Like, "Don't make useless subs in a World Cup Final unless your players are good enough to win in spite of you."

What I don't get it is that most of the sites say that Lippi made a personal call to DD. If it was personal how the hell do they know.

Telecom Italia ghosts are coming back. :scared:
Exactly.... did they put a big on their phones & trace their calls? How the heck would they know Lippi called DD unless one of them actually said it happened?

I swear, I'm sick of seeing these "reports".... don't report anything unless it's true, damnit! Media whores.

All we know is this: Juventus has given DD the vote on confidence & if they get promoted, will go with DD at the start of the season.

They are perfectly capable of changing their minds between now & then. But as of right now, DD is the man.

I've already seen enough to realize that he isnt the right guy for the job

from his love of French players (thats ALL he wants to bring in, it seems), to his lack of decent team management (substitutions), I've had enough already !!
I remember him saying he wanted a primarily Italian team. I guess we'll find out, eh?

I agree about his management.... making a sub with like 1 minute left in the game? What's the point of that?

I have my doubts with him, but I'm willing to give him a shot in Serie A. Let's see what he can do with squad that has plenty of options.

you guys this sucks if true! if we keep didier deschamps next season then we will see the first juve team actually get relegated back to serie b! we need lippi or at least somebody better then desucks
Enough with the insults directed towards Deschamps. For fucks sake, we are on top of Serie B despite starting with negative points! Anybody who thought this year in Serie B would be a piece of cake either suffers from a lack of knowledge about the league or is simply fooling themselves. The tactics aren't necessarly the same as Serie A, the atmosphere is sometimes more rowdy than Serie A, and guess what... some of the teams are actually better than others playing in Serie A right now. It's not like we are playing within a league of amatuers here... players such as Di Vaio, Bellucci, Adailton, Sam Dalla Bona, Paolo Cannavaro, Meghni, Luigi Piangerelli etc are all Serie A class players. Hell, even half of the squads in Serie B now were in Serie A sometime within the last 5 years.

We've also had loads of injuries. And with loads of injuries you have to introduce the reserves, and some of the reserves are players such as De Ceglie, Piccolo and Marchisio etc who are young and inexperianced who have a lot of pressure on their shoulders playing for this club. You have to take such things into consideration before blasting our manager because we aren't running away with the league. The only fair criticism I see regarding Didier's decisions are the qualms about not playing Bojinov and also his substitution tendencies, or lack there of. That's it. Other than that, you cannot really fault Deschamps.

So for the last time, lets wait until the end of the season and until Deschamps has a little more time to prove what he's capable of. Half a season is nowhere near a suitable amount of time to evaluate a manager... if nonsensical directors thought it was, the likes of Sir Alex and Hitzfeld would have been long gone. And everybody would be Internazionale.

Juventus is not Inter.

Great post Andy, +rep. Anyone who thinks that Deschamps has done a bad job with Juve so far, is out of mind. After we screwed him and got that idiot Capello, he still stayed loyal to us, even after we got relegated to a lower division. He was here with us when everyone else wanted to run away from us, and has done a great job so far. It's not that easy to take a team to the top of the table with -9 points and all these injuries we've been hit this season.

I concur, and Deschamps' loyalty is something that should be respected... not forgotten. But loyalty is not the only thing going for our manager right now... the results are nothing to be ashamed of either.

Agreed. There was a lot of pressure on our team after we got relegated. Deschamps along with our boys have handled that very well, and we are in a great position right now. But being first in the league is not enough for some members here. But that's just their opinion.

loyalty ??

let me ask you, Andy...is DD getting paid ??

it isnt about loyalty, its about a paycheck, and I didnt see any other teams knocking the door down to get DD before he signed with us, while he was unemployed

if he was wanted, he wouldnt have been sitting around so long after his last coaching stint

Deschamps was only unemployed for about eight months if I remember correctly, so that's not really a long time for a manager to be out of work. He resigned in the Fall of 2005 and signed on with us during the summer after Capello got the hell out of here. As I recall, not too many top tier sides were looking for a replacement manager during the Fall and Winter. So I wouldn't look too much into this absence from coaching.

And besides, he may have been holding out for the position at Juventus for all we know, as there were rumors Capello was leaving long before that summer. Who knows really. But all that matters is that Deschamps hasn't done that poorly of a job thus far. And like I did with Capello when he came to this footballing institution, I'm going to give him enough of a chance to show what he's capable of. Deschamps deserves the benefit of the doubt this early into his coaching career at Juventus.

I don't buy it, Vinman. DD was visibly upset that the Juventus board selected Capello before him when Lippi left. It's not like he wasn't getting a good paycheck down at Monaco.

DD could have coached in any A league in Europe. I didn't exactly see a lot of other willing candidates for the Juventus coaching post there either. Least of all a certain Fabio Capello who left before even forwarding his mail.

DD has a history with the club and it was clear he feels tethered to the club and its future success. That is rarely sufficient in itself. But as Andy says, combining that kind of willingness with results is hardly anything to sneeze at.

Would you really have preferred Gigi Del Neri??
