IMHO, CR7 is not as talented as Messi but CR7 is definitely a leader with his never say die attitude and encouraging his teammates. Messi just sulks when things don’t go his way.

As far as Messi’s contract goes, you can’t really blame him for that. What you can blame him is for strolling on the pitch while his team is struggling.

Barcelona basically want to blame Messi for their eventual bankruptcy, what scum. He has won something like half of all their trophies throughout their club history and earns the club a third of their revenue. I hope he leaves and Barcelona disappear. What a joke they think Messi made them bankrupt and not the transfers of garbage like of Dembele, Coutinho and the French Fortnite troll. What a way to treat their legend.

the truth is somewhere in the middle. barcelona obviously had a terrible transfer strategy, and messi's contract is a huge financial burden too. what i don't understand is that why they kept him against his will if they thought that his contract was too expensive. they could have saved his salary for this season and ask for some transfer fee from city last summer.

either way, nobody is worth that much. not even messi. barcelona are idiots to pay it, and messi is just feeding his fans with some bs by mentioning his love for the club. they deserve each other, and an investigation from the tax authorities too.

I don’t see what Messi has done wrong here. His agents asked for the contract, Barca agreed to pay it. Then he tried to leave but Barca didn’t let him based on a technicality since the season ended after his opt out date. I’m not sure how his love for the fans plays into any of this, he spent his whole life there, he has to be attached to the city at some level.

Barca are just run by a bunch of incompetent people and are using Messi as an escape goat

honest question: what do you think, why messi wanted to leave barcelona? and why he still doesn't have a new contract, while bartomeu (the alleged reason why he wanted to leave) is out for months, but players like de jong, piqué or ter stegen all agreed on new, temporarily reduced wages and an extension?

idk why he wants to leave, apparently he isn’t happy with the leadership and the way they treated his teammates. Maybe he wants something different, who knows? Either way, I can’t blame him for not taking a reduced wage
