Has anyone got any experience with Debian?

I've heard good things and I'm thinking of giving it a try, especially in light of the direction that Ubuntu is going on this days, which doesn't really sit right with me.

Right now I'm leaning towards LMDE.

I've been using Mint for the past year and was extremely satisfied. Debian should be good if you have the energy to install it.

I switched back to gnome myself. But there is some annoying new thing in the window manager that keeps resizing the windows wildly and places them in the wrong spot too.

Couldn't care less now with Gtalk calls coming to Android, I've just about completely stopped using Skype.

The new version of Ubuntu seems to have handled my laptop's heating problem a bit. Its not completely solved, but much better than earlier.
