Upgrade Done! No noticeable glitches as far as I can tell.
First impressions, well apart from the new font (which looks pretty) there isn't much change. They have replaced the horrible F-Spot photo manager with Shotwell which is much much better.
You think? I actually think they both suck, and the fact that they changed it shows that they basically have no clue what they want in a photo organizer app. As if they're still feeling themselves around.

Is there an alternative?
Edit: While you are at it, why don't you also suggest a good application to edit song tags...
I don't really use photo organizers much, but the best one I know is digikam. It's packed with features, but it's not the most intuitive gui, there are lots of things you don't really know why you would need.

For that the only one worth using that I've seen is easytag. The old amarok1.x series also had quite good mass-edit id3 functionality but alas they decided to write amarok2 and get rid of all the great parts.

I'm off KDE, got sick of it. KDE3.x was great, I gave up waiting for KDE4 to restore that standard.
I'm totally with you, I still think KDE3.x is even more kick ass than the current Gnome and I wish KDE would wake up and realize their awesomeness was their in their uniqueness.

Marin, I need your help.

When I start Skype by its command I cannot start my webcam with it. It only works when I start it with:

$ bash -c 'LD_PRELOAD=/usr/lib/libv4l/v4l1compat.so skype'

I edited the shortcut in Menu to that command but it won't execute it, it only runs when I run it in Terminal.

How can I make this command executable via a shortcut?

I've had trouble with these custom launchers before. I'm not sure if this is going to work, but you could try putting that in a script, making the script executable, and pointing the launcher to the script.

I've completely given up on Linux as my main OS. Win7 is just fucking too good. It's been over 1.5 years since I installed it and had absolutely no problems and no speed decreases after that time(which is unusual for Win OS). I'm absolutely thrilled with the OS.

Changed the OS to Pinguy over the weekend. Neat little thing that. Better than LiveMint
I'm experiencing a little trouble though. The system just turns off by itself while I'm working on it like playing a video or something. I experienced the same thing with Ubuntu before I changed to Pinguy.

Or maybe your CPU is overheating? Does it reset or shutdown completely? If the latter, does it go through the shutdown process, logging off screen, etc. or does it turn off like the power went out? If the latter, it's most likely the CPU overheating.
