I think he's referring to the splash screen.

From the Ubuntu forums:

The *buntu usplash screens packages are called:

usplash-theme-ubuntu
xubuntu-artwork-usplash
kubuntu-artwork-usplash

you get the idea...just search synaptic for usplash

Remove the ones you don't want to use and reinstall the one you want to keep.

I had installed then removed KDE but was still left with the Kubuntu usplash. Removing kubuntu-artwork-usplash got me back to the Ubuntu usplash.

You could also try installing startupmanager if you want to manually change your usplash screen.

Hey does anybody know where i can find all the drivers for my hp dv6767tx?. The drivers for my ricoh 5in1 card reader are not installed it seems as it is not detecting any cards inserted.

such a huge dissapointment,kinda like watching Lippi's Juventus compared to Ranieri's

It looks like a lot of applications in my ubuntu changed to the kde ones like Knetwork manager, konsole, kpackagekit etc. When im tryin to open them its takin longer time than usual. Any solutions??

Are you running kde by any chance?

The question is which desktop are you running? If it's kde then knetworkmanager for example will be used. If you run gnome then it won't, gnome has it's own app for that.

im havin the problem in gnome. In kde i know these are the default ones. But why do they come Gnome??

It's really dumb but all you have to do is install it. The assumption being that the new "App Store" (how I hate that idiotic meme) is easy to use, users know about it, and they're not as worthless as Windows users who will only use what comes with the OS, right?

In other words, not a huge problem.
