thanx i more question is there any messenger which can send and receive files like gtalk in ubuntu?
Unfortunately there has been close to zero improvement in instant messaging in the last 10 years. Your best option is probably msn still.

You can use linux clients like kopete and pidgin to connect to gtalk, but I don't know how well the file transfer works. There is no gtalk client from google for linux.

 gtalk is the easiest means for instant file transfer for me. In my College Lan we get very good speeds also. I had to transfer a file from my friend s comp. His DC++ filelist was not openin, I didnt know how to access files through LAN and damn this pidgin i had to transfer through a pendrive :(

I hear you. This is our great technical achievement. File transfer still sucks in 2009. I guess the next thing to try is bittorrent

15 years ago the most reliable method of file transfer was email and today... still is.

Last night I found out that I could access the contents of my hard drive by running the live cd. So just in case windows crashes I can always take a back up by accessing the hard drive through the LiveCD...

For starters its got good wallpapers :D
Its a bit faster, boots a bit slower, has an all new Software Center (which I'm not sure if I like or not)... I'm not sure of the other technical parts as I use my laptop only for browsing and watching movies :D
Btw, I have had more applications hanging in 4 days than I had when I had Jaunty (which was a few weeks)...

I don't know what mime type is but as we were talking about Spotify, I realized that play lists can be shared, they are browser links that start with spotify:// and opening them just like that doesn't work in FF.

I added a boolean and a string with a link to an sh file that opens the application

It was really geek and I love it.
