rythmbox works fine but i prefer amarokm by a country mile, if only it would work

plus streaming videos has become an incredibly frustrating process since all i get is a peach coloured screen


i am seriously thinking about switching to something else for teh time being, what are your suggestions guys

What app do you use for streaming?

There is always the alternative of going to another distro, where some apps may work better. This is usually the case, but you can't avoid that basically everywhere something is broken at any given time. This is obviously no different from other operating systems.

A less drastic measure is to investigate a newer version of the application. Usually this is what problem solving inquiries point to. Get a so called bleeding edge version and it might solve the particular bug.

This kind of disinformation is nothing new, unfortunately. It's routine. They're still using that slogan "get the facts" that they used, first to bash Unix and make Windows look good (this was still back when they refused to recognize Linux), and later Linux.

I guess when someone tells you to get the facts you should follow his advice, but make sure to get the facts from anywhere but him.

Okay, so the Ubuntu download is a few minutes away from being complete... I'll be using Wubi to install as my CD writer seems to be broken... Anything I should be aware of?

I was just wondering.. I don't see why you couldn't do that btw. Create an ext3 partition, copy all the files there. Except you'd have to run all the install logic from win32 somehow. You'd be duplicating a lot of work.
