Like I said, PCLOS is really smooth running, but compaired to Kubuntu Feisty it's like a Ferrari. I've really been disapointed with Feisty in general but most of all because of the slowness, which is overwhelming..

Guys, try PCLOS, it's free after all. You don't like it, remove it. ;)

Perhaps you were disappointed with the Kubuntu Feisty, the Ubuntu one is just great!!:agree:

I am already downloading ;)

I was looking around and it looks like it's much better than Kubuntu.
Of course you are, its a three minute task for you, unlike my all-nighter!

Edit: oh well I might as well go with the flow, I'll download it tonight :)

It really is better, beats Feisty hands down.

I've been reading up on their forums and it seems like they're really a dedicated team. This final release has been postponed quite a few times, they wanted to clear all the minor bugs but it was worth the wait, for me it's running flawlessly.

Oh and it seems they don't like us Ubuntu-ers. :p

Yeah, like I said the Ubuntu version is obviously getting a lot more attention than the others.

Ya I remember I once got on their IRC channel when I had a problem with Amaroklive, when they knew I am an Ubuntu-ers, two guys started to talk shit about Ubuntu; "I call it NoBootu" one said. I politely said, "you like PClinuxOS and I like Ubuntu, isn't freedom of choice whats Linux all about?" He replied with "whatever, Ubuntu sucks!"

I have a 24Mbit connection and I got a rate of 30kbps when using the mirror. I downloaded the whole image in 11 minutes using the torrent.

im using flashget...i get full speed...problem is it's still too slow!

EDIT: i got a 256kbps ADSL!!!
Well if your getting 32 kbyte/s transfer rate and ur on 256 Kbps, then your on optimum speed. This is a common mistake with a lot of people. kbps doesn't mean that you should expect a 256 kbyte/s transfer rate. Simply because kbps stands for Kilo Bit Per Second while transfer rates are kbyte/s (Kilo Byte per second).

1 Byte=8 Bits

So 256 Kilo bit per second = 1/8 (256 Kilo byte per second) = 32 Kilo byte per second

Edit: I could swear that the a marketing ploy is behind this confusion :wallbang:

We should get "Open Source" ISP's. Everything goes no holds barred.

We had that kind of regime too for a few years, T-Com had a monopolly over the whole country and the speeds were low, plus you had to pay for each GB downloaded/uploaded. In the last year or so new operators came and with it more acceptable speeds and prices. I have a 2mbit flatrate connection, for the same money I had with T-Com's 1mbit non-flatrate, and I'm a happy camper now. :)

Viva la competicion! :toast:
