Yeah, when I press Shut Down, I only see a 'log off' button, so I have to log out and shut down / restart from there. Not a big deal, but... hmm...
that happened to me when i apt-got kubuntu when i had Ubuntu installed. and also recently when an X server screw made me reconfigure xserver and login after 'startx'.

but im only talking about Suspend and Hibernate! even in Edgy, and now in Feisty, it simply doesnt work!

Oh well recompiling the kernel didn't work for me on Feisty despite it working on Dapper

But I really like the fact that Compiz works out of the box and Beryl with a simple aptitude command. It really serves well when I preach ;)

one thing i've noticed is that the Beryl package sizes have decreased! before, on my 32kBps Broadband, i had to leave it to download for an hour to get Beryl files. now it's more like 10 mins! great stuff!

Beryl > Pre-installed Compiz

Looks like with Feisty, Ubuntu kinda went the Vista and Mac route, eye candy over functionality. For me quite a few devices (all USB devices) only work when I enter the terminal, and that is a step backwards.

Maybe I should try Kubuntu out...

I wish it wasn't true, but I am experiencing something along those lines. From time to time every thing suddenly just freezes up, and then comes back to life within 10-30 seconds. It appears to happen randomly, I just can't figure out whats wrong.
