If I am assuming right, Uju is your girlfriend...I would suggest that you install an Ubuntu (dual boot), and set up everything up for her, apps, programs, multimedia...etc....I would even beautify the desktop so it would look more appealing...Maybe then she would give it a try:p

That's whjat I did with Petra and she was satisfied with it. I will see if she'll enjoy Gentoo.

same thing as a .deb in ubuntu. i think.
redhat (suse, mandriva): rpm
debian (ubuntu, mepis, linspire): dpkg
gentoo: emerge

In other words, the amazing "new" invention that the Windows people are still waiting for, the.............. package manager.

can anyone answer me question?

how can i get me stone age ball mouse to work in live CD mode?
I had a problem with that too. I don't know if you can fix it in live CD mode - it's not exactly meant to be configurable. If you've a spare mouse handy, try that. I found that my stone age mouse worked where my new one didn't!

Really? My threads always drown there among the 400 other currently active threads on any given day.
perhaps that's because you're an advanced users and ask difficult questions only a few could answer, whereas i ask newbie type of questions practically anyone can answer. threads there do open rapidly so yours go down the drain unfortunatelly.
try bumping them. :D
