Yo Martin i solved the .exe, .txt prob. They were created in folders that were shared by Dc++. I created two other folders and moved all the contents to it. And deleted the original ones. Not much of a solution but it worked anyways :)
Told you it was a filesharing app doing it ;)

Can anybody tell me how i can access folders shred on the LAN from my Koala?? In Windows i usually open Run and then \\ip

Samba is installed but this link tells you how to connect to a Samba share. I want to access files from a Windows platform
The page has all kinds of info. The section I pointed to tho does what you want. "Ubuntu and Gnome make it easy to access files on a Windows network share..."

EDIT: Misunderstood you. I bet the same page has info for that too, but there's also this:

Where are the files you wanna access? On a Windows box or a Linux box?

i liked Mint,the whole thing was highly polished but for some bizzare reason the screen resulution fucked up,went HUGE and i no amount of buggering about could fix it,i had to regress back to Ubuntu
