Here's the open bug:
http://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=168379

Perhaps I pushed him a bit, but in retrospect it's not like I was wrong to assume he would ignore it. As you can see his logic in this report leaves something to be desired. No, regressions from kde3 don't matter. But regressions from early kde4 are critical.

Ironically, I already reported the same problem to him on his blog in like april.

I upgraded to KDE 4.2 yesterday but the GUI was terribly messed up that I had to go back to 4.1

I think I'll wait on that until the coming Kubuntu release, it's only a couple of months, right?

So yesterday at work I was bored and went to try the latest Kubuntu. So I popped in the live CD and booted, played around with, etc.(it's nice BTW) and I removed the CD, restarted to Vista and magically Vista became corrupted(even though it worked perfectly before). So basically, Kubuntu screwed up one of my work PC's. I don't think I should have mounted the local disk, I think that's what did it. But I was under the impression live CD can't do anything to the local installation?

Either way, Kubuntu repayed itself because I could salvage all the important data with the live CD and a USB stick. :p

I absolutelly can't at work.

However, I will most certainly be using it again most of the time on my home desktop, because my brother is moving away finally, in a couple of months, and I'll be able to do whatever the heck I want on the PC.

I liked their 2007 release very much. Fast, polished and ran out of the box 100%. I'll have to check it out, thanks Graham.

Forget Linux; Microsoft is striking back!

Microsoft launches new version of ‘Not Responding’ 2009

Microsoft has updated its popular Not Responding 2007 with a new multi media version, that automatically reduces the amount of work done on a computer by wiping the last hour’s worth.

‘Not Responding 2009 is a whole new paradigm shift,’ said Ned Holliday, Microsoft’s UK avatar MD. ‘It’s no longer enough to let people down with a simple system crash. Gone are the days of raging at a one dimensional system failure.’ Holliday explained that modern professionals are demanding to be let down in a range of communications media, whether it’s voice over wifi, Skype, web conferencing or just using Microsoft’s plain old instant mortification.

The system is designed to be compatible with Microsoft’s package for small and medium sized businesses, Professional Prevaricator 2008, the automated buck-passing system that allows middle management employees to appear to consider a decision without putting their heads above the parapet. Some critics were worried that Prevaricator’s CC mail platform, that automatically dampens down any dangerous enthusiasm by getting as many people involved as possible, might not work well alongside a system that is designed for instant disappointment.

‘Executives in corporations across the globe are being asked to prove their worth to the company, or walk,’ said a Microsoft spokesman, ‘the risk of exposure is critical. So they’ve never needed a system failure more than now’ he said in a press statement written by hand, after his Word Document had mysteriously wiped itself.

Martin, where is the windows 7 propaganda??
I ve heard that the Linux community will really suffer from this new version, since they seem to be more stable and... "affordable".

BTW, are you the creator of the emutalks forum, too?
