Thuram: 'Juve could win Champions League'

Lilian Thuram believes Juventus “are not that far away” from being able to win the Champions League.

The Bianconeri lost the quarter-final 4-0 on aggregate to Bayern Munich, who are now favourites for the trophy after destroying Barcelona 7-0 on aggregate.

“Every year teams do everything possible to become stronger and that is part of the life cycle of a squad,” former Juve defender Thuram told Sky Sport Italia.

“Barcelona, Paris Saint-Germain and Real Madrid do it. I hope that Juve will too. Winning the Champions League is very difficult, because the standard is so high, but I think Juventus are not that far away from being able to achieve it.”

Thuram recently visited the new Juventus Stadium to attend the opening of an exhibition marking 90 years of the Agnelli family involvement in the club.

“I am very happy I got to see the team at the Vinovo training ground, above all those I had played with like Antonio Conte, Gianluca Pessotto and Sebastian Giovinco. Some of them were in the Primavera youth team when I was there.

“Juventus have won two consecutive Scudetto titles, so it means they have great players. I do not understand this search for big names.”

True.. but he is still a cunt. I can understand players wanting to leave us in 2006 and I do not blame them for it. It is their actions and words against our club that I hate them for and it is also something I have to admire the likes of Zlatan for.

something he said on 15th August 2006, back when nobody knew the real facts and the depths of the conspiracy, and when Juve themselves were more than happy to negotiate a lesser punishment.

am sure his reply will be a lot more different now.

You may be right but if such was the case then surely an apology is due before granting them forgiveness. I was a massive fan of Thuram so this is something I would love to have cleared up.

So, this cocksucker was in our office today, our management is so god damn retarded or what?

"JuventusFC ‏@juventusfcen
A friendly face drops by our main offices to say 'ciao’... #Thuram "

Friendly face

I don't feel guilty myself because I have given my all in Turin for five years and sometimes we won, and sometimes we lost," the 34-year-old told Spain's El Pais.

"But if after these sacrifices you discover that other people were doing things to ensure we won every time, it disgusts you.

"Football needs to send out a positive message, but this one was negative, giving the game a dirty image.

"That is why it is right to give Juve a heavy punishment. It may be painful for the players and fans, but it is right for the good of football."
