The whole point of the joke has nothing to do with the religion itself. i made that joke due to the fact that Colin didn't mention what Hindus' point of view.

Who are you to tell me what is or isn't a necessary joke?

I'm am deeply offended by the fact that you think that there was something to "fix" anyway. The smilie isn't there to fix anything. It's there to show that I know my previous statement is obviously not true. Who the hell doesn't know that Hinduism is a religion anyway?!

BTW, If you think this is inappropriate, why dont you stick your nose into other conversations of people who jockingly call each other "Bastard" for example?

If you're gonna stick your nose, at least be consistant so we won't joke around you.

.........
Anyhow, I dont see that there's anything to apologize for, but I'm willing to do so if baggio was indeed offended as offending a good forum mate is the last thing on my mind!

..........

PS gray, if you think this post is in anyway overreacting, then you'll know how i feel about your first post of mine that you quoted in this thread.

Well Majed, i would feel offended if i were insecure about my religion. Even if you indeed thought otherwise about it, it wouldnt matter. Simply because im not looking for an approval about Hinduism from anyone.

However having said that, it was an irresponsible statement. And I commend gray for saying it the way it is. Put urself on the wrong side of this and you'l see what i mean.

Sally, there have ben instances of people remembering thier previous lives. And these have been well documented. But not everybody remembers thier past life.

Some believe thier current fears are all attributed to or have some connection with thier past.
(eg. ppl who fear water blv they cudve died by drowning in thier previous life.)

Reincarnation doesnt necessarily mean you'd be born as a human being again. It could be ne other form of life.

I just don't think it's appropriate to joke about people's religions, since it's a touchy topic. It's like making jokes about people's mothers, it's pretty much a guaranteed way of offending them.

If I said "Islam shouldn't count as a religion because terrorists are Muslims :D:D:D"

no matter how much jest or jokes i put into the post, it'll still strike a note with yourself or any other Muslims, and you'll take it a little more personally than if i say "Majed shut up, nobody cares what you think :D:D:D", even though the nature of the latter comment would seem more aggressive.

What i meant was, that using a smilie at the end of a joke doesn't nullify any potential offence it may have caused.

That's different, because nobody's gonna take it personally. If you call someone a bastard or an idiot for example, it's a universal insult that usually isn't taken too seriously.

I don't think you over-reacted, but i don't think you understand that some people are very sensitive to these kinds of things. I wasn't offended cos i'm not Hindu, but it's just some advice, be careful dude.

btw i like ur new nick

or people could just stop taking everything so personally and get on with it.

we spend more time beotching about every single little detail, than giving a fok about what really matters.

    joke - check
    moral-beotching - check
    move on - ...

"Besides even IF it doesn't exist, there's a good behind believing it does exist. Prophet Muhammad once said "work as you live forever and do deeds as if you'll die tomorrow"

    I live by that"

i guess that's cool but i live by " aim low - reach your goals - avoid dissapointment " ..... and well maybe it's just b/c i'm practical, practical people don't like to believe they like to SEE

Easier said than done. Especially when you dont know much about the subject.

i suggest you read a few posts in this thread to get a gist of it, before jumping to profound conclusions
