If anything realizing and acknowledging that mistake it's what makes him a great man and true capitano he is today.
True capitano who celebrated vs us.

I'm glad he's back to his best and we really needed that and I wasn't even against us re-signing him, but I cringe everytime I see him with the armband.

I think his realization and return more so had to with the embarrassing season he had at Milan and the arrival of CR7 to Juventus, rather than any moral understanding.
Yeah, as if he wouldn't have remained at Milan if they actually had 200m+ worth good mercato and were a title contenders like the usual bunch here thought.
