Beat Palacio to a difficult header, ball went straight up in the air, he challenged Palacio again for the ball whilst they were grappling each other, the ball fell down on his side and he miss-kicked it under pressure, Chiellini also came in from the side to help, but Kovacic anticipated the mistake and led a 3v2, Palacio shot over. Basically Inter's only real chance.

Made a very good slide tackle at the end though, when Inter threatened to break.

His (typical) one $#@! up nearly cost us though. Needs to wake the funk up.
Yeah that tackle in the end was his only highlight from a defending point of view.Palacio's shit finishing saved us today otherwise it would've been a normal Bonucci moment as usual.

Considering he's usually the sweeper, his mistakes tend to leave the opposition with a chance at goal

Palacio normally scores them, then it's 1-1 and we have a whole different game. There's no point letting him off because his mistake didn't lead to a goal. Because he does them so frequently and a lot of the time we can, have and will continue to get punished.

He actually made two vital interceptions at 89 and 90 minutes, but I agree, it's much like a goalkeeper, you can do many good things but not afford to lapse concentration to risk a goal.

It will happen though, because of his style, role and field position. When Bonucci loses the ball in a position where he has stepped out of the area it's the same as the rarer occasion that Pirlo loses it, in the central area of the pitch with our team looking towards the opposition goal it can be disastrous because the transition switches.
